Don't particularly care to have either one. I'd rather just get whatever pick we can for XL.

Maybe there's a team desperate for WR help that will overpay for a young player they liked pre-draft, similar to Dallas giving us a 4th for Jonathan Mingo.

I agree. Put him on the block officially and see what you can get. If it's a conditional 6th or 7th, fine.

I think it would be best for him to be traded a considerable distance from this area and likely the South so that he can try to focus on football for a chance.

Such a dumb idea

IDK how we go from good player for good player trade suggestions to dumpster fire bust for dumpster fire bust trade suggestions.

Even though Coleman is better, he has a littany of motivation and discipline issues. Do we think milquetoast Dave is gonna fix that??

I wouldn't do this. XL had a bad year but he showed a lot of promise as a rookie for a guy we KNEW was going to take some time to develop

You can hate the pick if you want but now that we've got XL I would give him one more season to see if he can round into a contributor.

Coleman has always struck me as a guy that was not going to put the work in to be great. might be wrong but that's my gut read on him.

The real problem is XL is where we drafted him. If we had taken him mid second round I think the outrage surrounding him would be far less. Not his fault they traded up (one spot) to make him a first round pick

I am with you. Give XL an offseason and a camp to respond. He may not be a 1st round level contributor but may be able to contribute to the team in a lesser role.

If someone calls and offers a 3rd I would do it but if it is a day three thing I’d rather roll the dice on him for now.

I bet he didn’t see this coming until it about just hit him.  He isn’t that quick, unfortunately. Let him get his head around it and see what happens.

I disagree. He would be acceptable as a Day 3 pick but that is about it.

At this stage, we know who are X and Z receivers are. Trading XL for anyone else who doesn't operate primarily out of the slot doesn't make any sense. At this point, just move XL and stick him in the Y Slot and see what he can do.

Sounds like a plan to me.

    • I don’t see what would make him so good with Bryce to be honest, that we aren’t covering now with Tet and Coker. We need a Smitty type. Easier said than done but those smoke screens and stuff, with two Moose types for people to worry about, seems better to me. A little guy with supremes quickness, that will fight for a ball thrown to him. Smitty was a very rare specimen.    I think looking for straight up speed to go downfield, can’t really use it with Bryce. I feel like a speed demon would just outrun Bryce’s ball and have to coast on his deep routes to stay within range.  You need a QB that will launch it 50-60 yards so he can turn on the afterburners and go.
    • I still can't believe Harbaugh took the Giants job knowing the Bills job was going to open up with anything less than a Super Bowl run by McDermott. Now he's stuck with basically the white Lamar Jackson, on and off the field, a RB who will be in the WWE in 2 years, and Malik Nabers who will want to be traded by the end of next year.  Not to mention that division is an absolute gauntlet.  Stefanski to the Falcons, unfortunately for us, is a great hire.  He will see what a bum Penix is, make Cousins the starter and they will run away with the division for the next 2-3 years.  The rest of the jobs are great opportunities to get a guaranteed $30-$50M depending on who you are and where you go, but there isn't a single job out there where you are going to win immediately other than Buffalo (where you have to deal with a front office undermining you) and Baltimore (where your QB purposely sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles and dresses like he's in a Bobby Shmurda video).
    • Folks complained quite frequently when DJ Moore was here that he was not a #1 and never would be. That was when he was still on a rookie contract and then briefly on the new deal we signed him to which now looks like an absolute steal compared to his current contract. If he were here now making what he's making we would never hear the end of it. Gotta turn the page.
