Championship Round Playoff Thread

Recommended Posts

Haven't seen this posted yet so....

My predictions(4-6 so far after an 0-4 Divisional)

New England 17, Denver 13

Closer than anticipated as Jared Sitdham proves to be a much more adept playoff QB than CJ Stroud. Ugly, defensive game.

St. Louis 31, Seattle 24

Sam Darnold doesn't catch lightning in a bottle again and provides at least 2 TO's(has 6 total versus them this season) to the Rams which proves to be the difference as Seattle's potent rushing offense(153 YPC vs Rams in 2025) isn't utilized enough to keep Stafford at bay.

No idea about the AFC. i hate to pick Denver so I won’t.
I think LA falls short though. Their defense is a little suspect and Seattle is a hard place to go into.

Rams do have a lot of trips in there and it might not be as much of a hurdle to them as someone traveling cross country that never plays there.

We’ll see what kind of bullshit the refs pull today.

Very sound thinking.

I am leaning more towards Denver. I think their home field advantage is just enough to tip the scale. I fully expect a clunky, somewhat unwatchable game disguised as a defensive battle.

Bad Sam Darnold, come on down! It's time to make your appearance.

Average margin of victory in the St. Louis/Seattle series this year was 1.5 points. In fact, if you recall, the Rams basically choked away the season sweep in Seattle.

I would be very surprised if that game isn't very close(one score or less).

Yeah. Probably will be close. I am not rooting for anyone don’t really care that much.

Same for the AFC game, don’t really care. Except it is Sean Payton, I always like it when he loses.  But it’s New England, I can’t root for them.
It’s going to be 23 degrees at kickoff in Denver, wind will 12-15mph, dropping to 13 degrees by 7pm with snow predicted to start before halftime.

Rooting for a long game loaded with injuries in Denver/New England. fug them both as hard as humanly possible.

No big preference on Rams/Seahawks. I have always liked Stafford so maybe go that direction somewhat.

Patriots by three scores. Seahawks by a hair if Darnold doesn't hand the game to the Rams which is always a strong possibility.

I don't think the Pats have that in them unless Denver signed CJ Stroud this week.

Having to watch Denver and New England play is the most disgusting thing ever. Sine Chapel Bill is now spreading his taint around Orange County, I will probably hope the Patriots win. I despise weasel face Payton so much it’s not healthy so it would warm my heart to watch him lose.

I think Seattle is rolling right now and are unstoppable. They will definitely beat the Rams, probably easily.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
