One minute folks love Moose and the young 7 foot center the next they are completely to blame. Meanwhile the franchise player need not take any responsibility.

Fascinating dynamic.

Battered spouse syndrome.

Lamelo isn't going to be able to do much to stop Banchero from getting into the paint and scoring well (something he's done very poorly this season, 38% shooting in paint, 7-11 last night) or help prevent Wagner, Banchero, and carter from scoring 59 points and getting to the ft line at will "15-22 from the line"

I've continued to give facts and all I've seen back is wah, wah, wah I don't like melo.

🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Just two days ago Banchero was getting resoundingly mocked for the Magic's loss to the Sixers. He is still having a better season statistically than LaMelo.

Coincidentally only one side in here has been spamming poo reactions and making it their personal mission to defend a guy tooth and nail that has not appeared in one actual playoff series game and is 1-2 in play in games (both losses being blowouts) and who will have earned over $350 million dollars through salary and endorsements before he's even 30.

The early hole was created significantly in part by LaMelo. Missing multiple shots turning the ball over giving the usual comical effort on the defensive end. Everyone knows if you get remotely physical with LaMelo it's a wrap. Clearly the Magic were looking to send a message. The rest of the team and the young players followed suit.

They had a good run and I love Moose but he did have limits.  IMO had Adebayo not been injured Miami would have beat us like Orlando did.

They always say the playoffs are a different breed.  It was very clear what we need for next season.  We need either through free agency or trade or the draft.  A big defensive center that can hold his ground against other teams big man.

Sad to see it end but hopefully Charle Lee gets the players he needs to take us to the next level.  The Hornets are not ready for a long run in the playoffs.

2026-27 I hope to see an improvement and get in the top six of the conference and get a full series.

If the Hornets are to operate as a competent franchise not content with getting drubbed in play in games anymore they will both address Center and target another shot creating playmaker. Miller and Kon are young pieces on rookie deals they aren't going anywhere. The odd man out is Miles Bridges. We need to upgrade in case LaMelo once again fails to take the next step. We cannot continue wasting anymore time embarrassing ourselves in the postseason going forward.

This is a question.  Could Coby White be a solid replacement for Ball? Seems he could be an upgrade. Seems he played well in replacement of Ball.  I normally get the highlights and don't get to see any games but I liked when White was on on the court.

For better or worse the front office will want to give LaMelo one more season.

Coby is actually quite clutch. He was everything I expected him to be when we traded for him. Huge upgrade over Colin Sexton. He basically saved us against the Heat. I have no idea if he will actually want to sign here long term though.

No one's saying LaMelo has no blame we're responding to you acting like he's the reason they lost. The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again.

It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team.

I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.

And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.

The team wore down and shots stopped falling.  Ball, Miller and Kon have to play well.  At least 2 of the 3.  2/16…0/6. That ain’t gonna cut it.

If Bridges and White are the only ones hitting from 3, it’s not gonna go well.  The 3’s make Moose and Kalk work.  No 3’s it gets too crowded for them with all the bodies crashing the boards.

(Kalk needs to add strength, something awful tho.)
