and Philly won 6 in 2024 on the way to a Super Bowl - what is your point? Luck obviously always is an extremely important part of any pro sports (injuries, weather, travel, schedule, etc.)

We went 8-9... I'll leave it at that cause this really isn't the thread for it. We signed a really injured guy for a lot of money. Continue on Morgan and Tepper...

Has any other FA hit 100 million??

ugh, I don't believe so...

Oweh just signed a similar 4 year $100 million (68 guaranteed) again I would always look at the guaranteed, but yes another edge just signed something similar and Oweh isn't great against the run.

I was telling everyone this team would HAVE to overpay for anyone worthwhile because of who our franchise is and where we are located.

Would've rather seen this position addressed in the draft for pennies on the dollar.  But I guess time will tell.

draft is very middling in terms of edge talent IMO

two of the tops edges have historically short arms

He was 97th in run defense snaps for edges with  (134).

So that’s 25 mill per for essentially a pure pass rusher. Jesse Minter said the key to unlocking Oweh in La was giving him freedom as a pass rusher. I knew right there we weren’t signing him. Evero gives no freedom

Agree.  It's a crap shoot either way.

Just a lot less stressful / impactful when you're not betting $120 million on the dice roll.

respectfully i disagree

a draft pick is a dice roll

Phillips is a known excellent pash rusher who can defend the run and is only 26. chances like this happen so rarely

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
