Panthers add another big piece in LB Devin Lloyd

Top 150 ranking: 3
Reported deal: 3 years, $45 million
Grade: A

Lloyd comes in pretty far under our projection of $19 million per year. He is tied for the fourth-highest-paid off-ball linebacker in the league, according to Over the Cap. He played like one of the best off-ball linebackers in football in 2025, and he will still only be 27 when the 2026 season begins. Lloyd is an explosive playmaker with a well-rounded skill set for the position. He is excellent in coverage. He is physical in run defense. He can blitz. He can run sideline to sideline. He had the production last season with 28 pressures and five interceptions. This had all the makings of a deal closer to the top of the market, which is held by the 49ers’ Fred Warner at $21 million APY. Lloyd slots in well below that number. This is a great deal for the Panthers. — Popper

Now we know why he was taking his time, he was most likely waiting to see if any other team was gonna offer more than $15 mil a year

Albert Breer:

Devin Lloyd's camp was shooting for $20 million per—they fall short of that, in a tough market for off-ball linebackers. But Carolina winds up with a really good player, who's steadily improved the last couple years.

hell they still need to invest a good draft pick at ILB, maybe not in rounds 1-2 now.....

Huddlers prepare thy self for CB and WR at 19 and 51st.....

I can’t imagine one of our first 2 picks would not be OL

Im scared about it too......I feel 3-4 guys and some "surprise" cuts. Still landing Lloyd.....even in a contract year... was a good bargain for a team with nearly nothing at ILB...... maybe this lits a fire under Wallace and Lloyd has a running mate...

It does feel like a "all-in" move/s from Dan, I can not believe his QB room tho.......

    • David Moore can play all the WR positions he's absolutely a lock to make the 53 based on that and his special team value. I think you have 1 spot open between Horn, Metchie, Tremayne and Chisena. I'd have to give the edge to Tremayne as I think he brings the most overall value as a WR and a special team player due to his size and speed. I'd like to find a spot for Horn, but this room is really crowded at the moment to have a guy who can only play the slot WR spot and be a kick and punt returner.
    • David Moore is 31 years old and averages 352 yards per season at peak form. I really doubt we would have to concern ourselves with someone swiping him off our practice squad.
    • His chest and arms are noticeably smaller, not high but do love a good edible
