This is more in line for me, as an upgrade for TE, than spending a 1st round pick on one.

You can see what the front office is trying to do here: go after Njoku or Okonkwo. If we land one of them, we cut Tommy Tremble and use his $6 million in cap space toward the new deal. If we miss out, we keep Tremble. Either way, there’s a good chance we end up upgrading at that spot

its impressive to see a competent front office make decisions

Add that to Evans, Tremble, and Sanders and the TR room becomes crowded. Gotta think JT is the odd man out in that scenario.

Should be….but Tommy’s got what they call a “cap number”. He’s a good move tight end/HBack for us and a hell of a lot more important than JT. Got to make the dollars make sense tho.

It is why/how we got Greg Olsen from Chicago - Martz was running their offense and didn’t value him.

I would definitely like this but not sure about getting into a bidding war over him. Either way I look forward to TE no longer being largely an afterthought.

Yeah, there are several posters who don't think TE is a need at all because Canales doesn't use them. I mean, given our TE roster of course our TE usage in the passing game is going to be limited. We have a roster full of third stringers.
