Competition in our WR room is good no matter how you want to look at it. That will be very beneficial in camp.

Now if we can only get consistently better ball placement

That and WRs that are where they're supposed to be, when they're supposed to be there. Talent/ability aside, I think we downplay how difficult it was to go into last season with such an inexperienced group. WRs and TEs were probably the youngest groups on the team.

I'm not really calling Metchie great. I'm calling Carolina's WR room let's just say limited. They're light on speed and shifty WRs. He brings physical attributes and a play style the room needs, and has needed for some time. Can he do it at a high level? We don't know that yet. But right now he's better than anybody else on the roster at that role. And overall better than anybody not named McMillian or Coker. Admittedly, not a particularly high bar to clear. And he's a better option than a 5th or 6th round WR they may try to draft to fill that role. He's a vet that should have an easier time picking up a new playbook, and he already has played a couple of years with the starting QB.

But you’re still ignoring my point in that post.

If he’s our 3rd best WR like you think, then he’d be the 2nd best on the Jets and they decided not to give the RFA tender to him, which would have kept him there on the cheap.

To me that says everything

Again, it's the Jets. They went into the season with Justin Fields as their answer at QB. Sure you want to base your stance on their personnel decisions.

Plus don't they still have Adonai Mitchell and Isaiah Williams? Believe it or not, the Jets had a better WR room than Carolina.
