I don’t think it has a lot to do with him, really. Possibly insurance but he is a different type of back from what we already had. Not a high volume guy, more of a specialist. At least that is how I see him.

People are reading too much into this signing. This guy is a completely different kind of back compared to what's already on the roster. He fills a utility that we need for cheap.

I'm more worried that we already squeezed the last of Brooks' career in those three plays or so already...

This has nothing to do with Brooks. They will probably get another late in the draft or an udfa. This contract is to hold onto him until they can get through the draft and start the build the 90 man roster. They very easily could cut him at any time.

I think we have before.  I am not sure Dillon is the guy to carry, but he is the type of guy to carry.  
 

edit. Offhand, Davis, Foster, Hoover, Goings, Rod Smart. 5 count em, 5 RBs. 
 

I am gonna say with 17 games you might want to if you plan to be run heavy.

Rather cutting decent players than being forced to pick up others teams trash.

Different era . Made sense then not so much now . I hope we keep him we need a power back badly
