BREAKING: Panthers have interest in Deebo Samuel

Recommended Posts

last year there was an unproar amongst a few popular twitter accounts we didn't sign Samuel

they never commented again but these are the same accounts that think we can literally sign/trade/draft every single player and when one of them pans out they say "SEE? SEE?"

i think its kinda funny everyone was talking on here about purdy sucks and he has the best wrs and fast forward turns out all his wrs were pretty much trash.  still has an amazing te rb duo but purdy has proven to be a top ten qb in the nfl could be a top 5.  he pretty much had no one this year was injured alot and still 2nd best qbr in the nfl.

Deebo still had a decent year given the QB situation. Hes not trash.

Hes locker room trash

Im in no way advocating for him. The post I was responding to seemed to imply all of Purdy's targets suck and he made them who they are. Purdy is much better than the Huddle wants him to be and he has also had good players around him.  Kittle, CMC, Ayuk, Jennings are no slouches and Deebo had by far his best year with Garoppolo not Purdy.

Freedom of discussion aside, I mean people have every right to discuss any potential player… he is 30 and his best seems to be behind him.
Sure, he can be as good once as he ever was, but we haven’t been doing this with anyone from the outside unless I’m forgetting. He doesn’t fit the obvious profile of what the bosses will sponsor.  We’ve been doing guys still in their mid 20s who have some headroom on that 30 ceiling.

Why do people still line up to simp for this guy? Did our game against the 49ers where he had 3 picks and a Bryce Youngesque stat line not make it clear enough for you that he is a game manager at absolute best?

Brook is 4x the QB BY wants to be. He's been in the top 12 since his first snap, Id nearly let Juan murder someone for that...

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
