Round 4!!! Who do you have? What do you want? (Draft Day 3 Live Thread)

Recommended Posts

Looking at York (ILB), Fisher (ILB), or Wright (TE) for our last pick.

I'd love to see some guys like Micah Morris, (G-Georgia), Devon Marshall, (CB - NC State), Reiger (EDGE - Wisconsin), Peyton (EDGE-LSU), Dallen Bently (TE - Utah) as UDFA

For the last pick.

1. VJ Payne (S, Kansas State)

  • The Fit: Even after taking Zakee Wheatley, you can never have enough athletic safeties for Ejiro Evero’s scheme. Payne is a "downhill" safety who excels in run support and is a projected special teams demon.
  • Why here? In the 7th round, you want guys who are guaranteed to make the 53-man roster. Payne’s ability to cover kicks and play "big nickel" roles makes him a very safe, productive final pick.

2. J. Taylor (RB, Virginia)

  • The Fit: While you have Jonathon Brooks and Chuba Hubbard, adding a late-round "change of pace" back is smart. Taylor is a high-volume producer with soft hands out of the backfield.
  • Why here? He provides insurance against the injury bugs that hit the backfield last year. He’s a "one-cut" runner who fits the zone-blocking scheme the Panthers are leaning into with the Monroe Freeling pick.

3. R. Benny (DT, Michigan)

  • The Fit: You took Lee Hunter early, but the interior defensive line rotation still needs mass. Benny is a classic Michigan "anchor" who excels at eating double teams.
  • Why here? Drafting Benny allows you to rotate Lee Hunter and Derrick Brown more effectively, keeping them fresh for the 4th quarter. He’s a "low-risk, high-floor" pick who helps ensure your run defense remains a top-10 unit.
