That's it. How do you feel about this draft class.

Qb in 7th if for no other reason to try and throw a little bit more of a scare into Bryce.

I agree with your overall assessment, but don't agree that taking a tackle in the first isn't a sexy pick. A huge athletic tackle with high upside is pretty exciting.

I'm hoping he's our future LT for the next decade.

What if the QB they take in the 7th is Pavia?

Our oline coaches have made A huge difference  with Icky. I think Monroe has a higher ceiling than Icky... so if they get him to stabilize  the same way, We could have an All Pro tackle... I love it!!

I loved it too.  So many wanted a LB or Safety.  I said months ago that I thought our biggest need was OT.  I would have loved to see one of the top players fall to us. In a sense, it did with Freeling because most mocks had him gone before 19.

Nothing would make me happier than to see us have a LT that we can rely on.  I remember when we had J. Gross and no one ever mentioned OT when the draft came up.  It would be nice to have a LT we could count on for 10 years or so.

You're kinda sending mixed messages. Freeling is that dude.

Don't think he was scared by signing Kenny Pickett and will Grier?

Ha, they scare me more than they scare Bryce.

In all seriousness in the 7th I would take whatever quarterback has the biggest arm out of any of them left. Bro needs to see how limited he is every single day in practice and so damn sure better make the most of what he's got.

I wanted a tackle as long as we didn't reach or pass on an elite blue chip if one miraculously fell, and as long as we weren't trying to make a RT fit into the LT spot. I expected us to come out with at least 1 lineman, possibly 2 and maybe 3 if we grabbed one in the 6th or an UDFA that stuck. We need depth. Last year we used 14 linemen. The trenches are a meat grinder.

For me it took care of business outside of ILB.
I am good with letting TEs Sanders and Evans have another season to see where they can get to, rather than starting over with a hyped prospect. Can do that next year if they don’t come along.
I guess we are about n the same boat with Wallace and Claude, which isn’t that horrible since we got Lloyd.

If we couldn’t have ILB at 51 (or 49) DT was my acceptable alternative and I think this guy will compliment DB very nicely. Front could be nasty this year.

PS I know we threw darts at a lot of needs later on, I am not going to pretend I know the players but it is supposedly good value and f a couple pan out, good to go.

I don't know if you saw the interview with Freeling after he was picked.  He said give him about two weeks and he could play RT.  So it gives me hope that if Moton wears down he could move over to RT.  Also, I would think he could play inside if necessary.

He does not lack confidence. Two weeks lol.

    • Yep, you're right. I forgot about that. Fly was banged up, but RBA put him on the ice for a reason, too. Could have put KK out there, but there was a purpose for Deslauriers on the ice.
    • I wasn’t speaking of Metchie in the context that I referenced Renfro  I couldn’t, he hasn’t played a snap for us    My Metchie esteem level is just not real high. As an NFL WR.  I am no expert on WRs it’s just what I think based on how it has gone for him as a pro  If he can’t catch on here with his old buddy then who is left? I am not wishing him any misfortune and hope he does well because that means we stole some talent; basically for free to boot.
    • No one said it would be a permanent thing.  The best thing about having more than two good corners is that you can play them in different position which changes how a QB sees the play unfolding.  You put question marks on a QB you had a second or so of decision making and gives our improved (hopefully) DL a chance to sack him.  If Thornton and Lee turn out to be studs you have 4 good CBs that can be used all over the defense.  That's a good thing.  If you are looking at it just based on salary it is kind of weak take.
