There are a variety of way to early 2027 mock drafts out but the consensus is Carolina will pick in the top 10 in 2027.  I may just be a homer but Carolina got better, much better this offseason especially on defense.  NFCS Champs and gave the Rams all they could handle in that playoff game.  Not seeing how they go backwards.

It really is as simple as that, if he can't improve, we will be worse next year even given the upgrades elsewhere.  Frankly we got lucky in a number of our wins last year, if the Bryce plays the same as he did and we don't get those breaks, we're a 5-6 win team.

6 of our 8 wins were by just 3 points, another by 7 (agains the Jets), and then the Falcons blowout.

It's very easy to see how this team goes backwards just on that alone, regression to the mean is a real thing when you have that many close games in one season.

We have a brutal schedule and as they say Any Given Sunday.  I do believe everything hangs on BY. He will have plenty of weapons and needs to continue to improve.  If he falters than I would hope for a top 5 pick and move on with one of the good QBs coming out in 2027. 

I am an optimistic person, so I am looking forward to a good season.

And I would not be beating the drum of winning the nfcs.  We werent even close to the best team at the end of the year.  NO and ATL would have walked away with it if they figured their qb situation out sooner.  Tampa have been in the mix if not for injuries across the board.  Its ok to say we got lucky.

I said the exact same thing.  A solid B, nothing flashy just feeling needs and yes Braz was probably our "worst" pick.

Bold prediction.  

What happens if he does well?  Outside of a Top 10 TE we have pretty much every weapon he needs.  I know you aren't a fan of his.  We will also have a much-improved defense that will keep us in games.

I kind of like Mensah too and he wasn’t even mentioned in these. Nico has the tools but needs to produce this year.

I dont even know what that means?  How would you quantify "does well"?   Because it seems to me he needs just about everything around him to be near perfect just for him to be a top 20ish qb.  

If he miraculously turns into a top 10 qb stat wise (which he needs to be imo to earn a new deal) then I would look to adding a stud pass rusher like simmons or stewart in the first

I really like watching Carr and hope he continues to improve, kid looks really special in doses last year

      Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.

      After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...

      My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
