Keep improving, Canales needs to let Bryce throw over 30 at times a game minimum, let him make mistakes and be aggressive downfield.

He calls downfield plays, Young just doesn't take them unless they're High School wide open.

When Canales/Morgan took over, the team had the least amount of talent of any team in the NFL. There were no receivers or TE's to speak of, the O-line was made up mainly of practice squad player and the defense had DB and Horn - everyone else was JAG. Morgan didn't invest the resources just to guarantee Young's success. These were investments needed regardless who the QB was/is. Not sure why everyone keeps "blaming" Young for investing in talent.

when canales was hired to hand hold bryce, they already had their starting tackles as well as multiple players that would be good starters on the oline in 2024/2025. The team had a 1000 yard receiver, and tight ends don't matter to canales because they're not using them to stretch the seam anyway.

The defense was blown up to sign the biggest IL linemen in free agency so bryce could become a top 22 qb.

Problems with the defense were created by the impulse to drown bryce in resources, and the talent level on offense wasn't nearly as dire when canales took over as some like to pretend. Most of the oline looking as horrible as they did in 2023 was bryce not being able to drop back like a full grown nfl qb

3,700 yards + passing

25 -30 passing TDs

> 5 rushing TDs

< 15 INTs

 > 90 passer rating

no costly fumbles

continue clutch performances and lead this team to another division title and a playoff win

I'm curious how many hear know Cam's stats in 2014.  His contract year before he signed his 2nd contract.

It's amazing to me the double standard on here on the huddle.  What Cam did was more than good enough to earn his 2nd contract. No questions asked.  Bryce couldn't even do enough for most of you on here.

Young's rookie year was 2023. Canales was hired in 2024. In 2023 Young had Thielen, Mingo, Chark, Shenault, Tremble and Hurst to throw to. His gaurds were Zavala and Jensen. And you are correct that they had a 1000 yard receiver. But Theilen was a 32 year old receiver at the time so everyone knew he would need to be replaced fairly soon. Regardless, I'm not sure how you can believe those guys didn't need to be upgraded - regardless of who the QB was/is.

Stats are overrated. Great example.

I was responding specifically to a poster talking about Canales taking over which was in 2024, who also said the entire offense was bereft of talent. That simply isn’t true, especially the part about the offensive line being mostly practice squad players. Moton, Iggy, and Christensen were already on the team.

im not arguing against upgrading positions on offense, but Dan shouldnt get credit for that while ignoring the biggest talent hole on the unit.

Brock Purdy holds the highest active career Total QBR in NFL history, hovering near a \(68.4\) mark. He is closely followed by two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Brock Purdy while injured this past season led the 49ers on a game winning drive against the Seahawks in week 1 had a QBR over 90 2 TDs & almost 300 yards but for whatever reason that is irrelevant?

they are trying to this very confusing player opponent comparision using Bryce Young ,Brock Purdy & the 2025 Seattle Seahawks defense where alot of important facts are left out of the equation...just saying

I think with the investment, they are hoping BY can remain a panther QB. I get that and all, but like I posted above his rank has gone from 32 to 28 to 26..... that's still not #1 overall I carry the team good. But they hope he can make the jump, who knows.......I was never a believer, but I have seen tiny talent and know about the poor level of players and coaches he's had around......

That's exactly how I feel about it
