So we sign Shockey, awesome. What now?

Recommended Posts

Pat Yasinskas from ESPN.com usually knows his stuff, but never would have predicted we would sign Shockey, which I'm actually excited about. But what now? Yasinskas predicts we'll draft DT Fairley & go after a FA QB but he could be wrong again. I'm predicting:

- We trade down for a 2nd round, 4th round, 7th round & conditional 3rd round next year & draft CB Peterson or WR Green

- Draft TE Kyle Rudolph from Notre Dame. He knows Jimmy & could be a big help

- Sign McNabb once he's released, just like we did with Shockey from the Saints

- Sign a reasonable DT & draft another later around 3rd-4th round

I'm also predicting 10-6 for next year, if there WILL be a season. Keep Shockey, Williams & the o-line healthy, make Smith happy, find a decent QB & we're gold

McNabb is NOT going to be released or traded. That is not going to happen. The Redskins would then be in a very similar situation as the Panthers. They would have no legit starting QB, looking at the same FA group we are (which is not very good, and nobody close to McNabb) and then have a #10 draft pick to get a QB who will not be ready to start right away.

Bottom line is McNabb will be on the Skins roster, unless somebody offers an insane trade (which wont happen). Not saying I wouldnt mind having him on our roster.

My prediction is this is not the first time Jerry Richardson lied and it won't be the last.

Lied about not signing any contracts or free agents until the new CBA was done...

Lied about going younger and seeing what talent there is in the youth of the team...

...and I'll bet ticket prices go up before the 2012 season....

    • I turned to the NFL Network and they are playing the Wildcard Game against the Rams I think we gained a lot of respect around the league we hung in there for a while into the 4th Quarter 🙂
    • Does anyone know for sure if the game tonite will be on HBO max?  That is where I watched the last one and only access I currently have- I am in SE NC and no broadcast stations carry the games.😖
    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted by teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  Bryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history of the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying
