Buffalo our best friend?

maybe if we can convince Buffalo we will draft Cam #1, they will offer their 2nd rounder and the #3 to pick Cam...basically getting back the Armanti pick.

at #3 we could get Fairley/Dareus, PP, AJ Green or Gabbert potentially.

anything less than their first and second this year and their first next year would be a huge fail.

if they really want him, then they'd be willing to part with next years second. if they don't then we haven't done a good enough selling job.

also, getting gabbert would be a huge fail as well, but thats another discussion.

still thinking that the best and most ideal situation is for the staff to be convinced that he is the guy and take him themselves and them be right in doing so.

it isn't unreasonable to believe that is possible.

The chances of us trading the pick are slim. The smoke screen stuff has been blown out of proportion. There is not one player in the draft good enough to have teams falling over each other to trade up for. If there is, we should be the ones taking that guy!!!!

But Teeray, if Cam is on the board and everyone else who needs a QB loves him as much as the huggers but our front office decides he is not right for us at this time, then someone would probably do it. Besides, with a rookie cap in place, it will free up top of the draft trades.

What if they trade up but don't take Cam?? And we miss out on the guy or guys we wanted?? Like Fairley or Dareus or PP??

Just bc a team wants to trade up doesn't mean they want Cam Newton, and they won't say when they are negotiating the pick.

It could happen. I just don't think it will. Not in this draft. I think we plan on using the pick.

But who knows. No sense going back and forth on it. You might end up being right. I'm certainly not 100% for certain that we aren't shopping the pick. Just my gut feel. We will find out on April 28th (Jesus that is a long time to fight about this sh*t) :)

I still say that the Bengals are the most logical trading partner. Here is why:

This Palmer thing is a PR nightmare. To keep fans in the seats, they need to bring in a QB that sells tickets. The Golden Calf of Bristol had the best selling jersey in the NFL after the draft last year. Cam will have the same effect. He will put people in the seats and sell jerseys. He will suck, but that is OK for now.

The Bengals know that Buffalo is a prime candidate for Newton, but won't trade with Denver because we are too. So they have to trade with us if they want a top QB. Heck, Buffalo could take Gabbert and mess them totally up.

But they can get a QB in free agency. If I was a decent QB who had options, I would not go to Cincinnati. Brown, Ocho--a veteran will call Palmer to find out the scoop. They are really in a bad situation. Trade with us or play Palmer. Carson's brother.

I don't think I would trade the pick for Palmer. His contract is tremendous for a QB who threw 20 pics last season. I would insist on the second rounder and a pick in 2012.

Palmer's ultimatum is probably the best thing that could have happened if we want to trade. It even makes Arizona realize that they have to trade with us or Denver if they want a QB--they might not. However, I thought they were dealing for Kolb, but I understand that Seattle is in that picture now. Stay tuned.

I am not certain we are shopping it either. If we want Newton, we won't. If we want (I heard this the other day) Peterson or Quinn, it makes sense to drop three or fout spots.

My 'sources' tell me the Panthers want to trade with Buffalo for their #3 and #34, then trade the #3 for the Redskins #10 and #41.

So a 2-14 season doesn't even net us a top ten pick? I'd be so pissed off. Last year I threw my remote at the t.v. when we drafted Pickles. I have a much more expensive t.v. now. I simply can't afford it. :banghead:
