Podcast Suggestions

Zod- Since it's draft season and all these college kids are fielding tons of questions and interviews why don't you see if you can get podcast interviews with the prospect #1 draft picks:

Bowers

Peterson

Fairley

Newton

Dareus

Gabbert

Green

Even if only 2 or 3 of them agree, that would be a nice podcast. We could all send in questions for each of the guys and you just pull the questions that you feel are the best.

What do you think?

might interfere with the 20 minute standup routine I developed. Mainly cock and fart jokes.

You should throw some Richardson monkeys and pie charts into the routine and you may have something.

If you get the urge....a draft podcast would be very interesting....carry on with your busy standup career.

Dang. My fault for suggesting you guys would like to hear some real perspective from the draft prospects, rather than creating thread after thread about titter updates relating to Cam Newton.

Guess when you're in the desert and you're use to drinking sand it's hard to switch back over to water....."ba-DUM ching"....I'll be here all day....

Okay, here's a serious response:

Dude, what you're proposoing is really difficult to pull off. In most cases, college athletes aren't saying much ahead of the draft (or rather their agents won't let them say much), especially ones that are in top 10 consideration. Anything that escapes their mouth has the potential to cost them draft position, and millions of dollars. Outside of ESPN you're going to have a very hard time getting anything more than a quick one sentance scripted response ("I'll be happy no matter where I get drafted. I just want to play football.") from anyone in top 10 consideration.

Second, 3 or 4 top 10 prospects on one Podcast? Really? I wonder why no other podcast has thought of this. Oh, wait, they have. They call the player's agent and as soon as the agent hears something that even sounds like "podcast," they hang up. You'd be a hero if you got a single top 10 prospect to sit down for a podcast. But three or four? I'll have some of what you're smoking, please.

If you want to get a player who's looking to be drafted you'll probably have to look at a later round player who isn't getting much attention and will do anything to get his name out there.

You think? I would think that they would like to speak with a fan based board with over 7,000 members of the team with the #1 pick in the draft. Guess that's why I'm asking the question.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
