You really think Cam and Gabbert are even comparable to Manning and Rivers? I'm not trying to predict the future, I'm just talking about them as QB prospects. Both were WAY ahead of Cam/Gabbert.

Right now, no - but I think Cam's potential projects to the possibility of being as good or better than either of these guys.

Sure. Did you see Rivers throwing motion in college?? People were shocked he got drafted where he did. They called it a "reach".

He got picked 4th and some people had him in the mid 1st round to late first round grade.

Teams weren't willing to give up enough for Sam Bradford last year and that was with player trades..I can't see buffalo offering enough with the CBA uncertainty and the Rookie Wage scale not in place..

yea, really don't see a trade going down unless hurney just completely settles for a mediocre offer

i don't think the panthers like cam newton as much as some of you do. after all, what a let down to have a shot at Luck who was the most consensus top pick that I can remember.

if you combine the fact that buffalo really likes newton with the fact that carolina isn't thrilled with having the top pick... you could see a trade. throw in the fact that carolina could pick up their missing second round pick while still landing the 1st round DT they desparately need and the conversation gets more interesting.

i don't think you could say that about the rams last year. taking bradford above suh (the consensus best player in the draft) meant that the rams really liked bradford. i just don't think the panthers like cam that much.

The success of recent high pick QBs is in our favor for getting a trade. The improvement shown by the Lions and Rams can only make a team like the Bills think getting Newton or Gabby will provide them with a similar instant 2-3 extra wins. Of course this doesn't take into account that those teams had several high picks in a row. That's the great thing about prejudice, though, logic doesn't have anything to do with it.
