IDK im sure some people think Norv Turners offense is simple and it is compared to Mike Martz but the fact is it works. I think the same goes for Auburn. They did not earn a title without doing something right and there system seemed to work.

I know, right? Some critics act like Cam is just a dumb fool who ran the most easiest plays in the world, and the he couldn't add 2+2 if his life depended on it. What does that say about the SEC then? About Oregon? The fact is, no matter WHAT Auburn had for plays, the kid went out there and led his team against another team's defense. It wasn't pure luck they went undefeated. It was talent and skill that got them there.

Let it go JOAT, just let it go man.

You've always been one of my favorite posters but you're really losing me lately. Just stop hating and relax dude.

Oh and your tag line is pretty despicable, maybe you should take a few days off and re-evaluate your relationship with this board. I know you have bigger fish to fry in this world, don't let this place drag you down.

No we wasn't and if, by chance, he never made any known attempt to clarify that.

Too late to change stories. Where was this pre-draft?

where was what? The playbook has always been there. He never said the offense was simple. The whole thing was about the playcalling and the Gruden show. He said the playcalling was simple such as "36" "simple=fast" referring to playcalling. and who is we?

As was pointed out, he is the equivalent of Cam's mom speaking up for him. Also, he is Auburn's OC, you really expect him to say, "yeah, we run a simple offense".

People talking about Cam's need to transfer from the Auburn style to the NFL, wasn't just McShay or other Draftniks, but plenty of NFL scouts and coaches. So yeah, I will believe them over Auburn's OC

yeah, screw going to the source. better off listening to guys who didn't look at the playbook and who make a living talking out of their arse in one giant circle jerk.

He, Cam, said the offense was simple. The horses mouth, turn it into whatever you want.

I said several times that the verbiage was easy but the actual offense was a modified "I" offense with two backs and 2 wide receivers and either a slot or a tight end.

I tried to say dozens of times that the offense wasn't simple in execution just simple in verbiage.

they were clearly talking about lingo and the manner in which the play was called......as being simple.

you don't go undefeated out of the SEC and win the National Championship with a full retard offense (and a relatively weak supporting cast). Cam ain't that good.

I'm not knocking that they ran a simple offense. Complexity doesn't make a scheme effective, it's whether or not you execute it, he obviously did.

Lombardi was known for expressing the sentiment that he didn't care if opponents knew what play they were going to run, still didn't mean they could stop it.

It was a simple offense, not saying that's bad as far as Auburn and college goes.

To expand, colleges are really hindering the development of QB's with these run option, gimmick offenses. Spread is bad, but atleast those guys have multiple reads, but not running a pro style offense is effecting the NFL.

So you're basically calling the OC a liar. Please tell me how you know its a simple offense. have you seen the playbook? enlighten me or is this your usual troll in the park

funny that you say that when NFL teams are and have been running the spread offense and doing really well with it.

it's increasingly the choice of pass heavy teams. more than that, they're also opting to keep their QBs in the shotgun more.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
