It really doesn't matter," Newton said. "Either way you look at it, I've still got more money than I've ever had."

And Newton knows that if he reaches his potential on the football field, he'll make up any financial disparity later.

"In this league, they set standards," Newton said. "If you play the way they're predicting you to play, you're going to be all right either way it goes.

lol, even our own players have a troll following.

Better get used to it and learn to love it.

Cam is the most IRRATIONALLY hated player I've ever observed in college football. (And, yes, I admit bias ahead of time since I am an Auburn alum.) And it has followed him to the NFL. Still, it was stunning to see EVERYTHING that he did construed in a negative light.

He smiles? He's being arrogant. He's being fake.

He high fives fans after winning football games? He's rubbing it in on the other team. He's being arrogant.

He's another Jamarcus Russell. He's a thug. He's lazy. He's stupid.

Looked at with an *unbiased* eyes, he has never exhibited ANY of these traits. But people well and truly believe that he is these things deep down in their hearts because they WANT to believe it. Somehow, it will make them feel better if Cam is an arrogant a$$hole and a failure.

Carolina has a gem on their hands. When he catches up to the speed of the NFL game, he's going to do very good even great things.

I'm so excited to see him play in Carolina this year, I can't wait.

...and if he did he was worth every cent, so what's your point?

Seriously...if they did pay him, they got more than their money's worth. Hell, "The Predator" came out and admitted that Auburn gave him a sack of money to play for them, and he sucked.

I was a pretty big doubter but he has done literally everything right this offseason since being drafted. If his progress is as great as many have said, he's going to be extremely fun to watch play. I'm excited to see the offense we've put around him, too.

    • It's worth noting that we started playing something that looked like football after going down 17-0 against the Dolphins.  Up to that point we had rushed the ball 3 times and Bryce had two turnovers.   Then we ran it 5 straight times with Rico and he started cracking off some big gains and led to our first touchdown.  Another 37 yards of rushing later, Bryce goes 1 yard complete, incomplete, incomplete to get that field goal before halftime.  Then we committed big time to the run in the second half and played some really nice complimentary football.  The Panthers had stumbled on a formula, and it started with Rico being crazy productive.  Something they only learned because Chubba was injured and Bryce started that game so poorly they were forced to lean on Rico. Fast foward to Dallas, they essentially lean into the same game plan against the Cowboys and I think everyone was surprised by how quickly it started to look complimentary.  In my opinion the productive offense really helped the defense as well.  We played quite solid against a top offense. Finally we make our way to the Jets and Bills, Chubba's return.  You can't say the low scoring affair and return to ineffective football against the Jets was all on Chubba, they were indeed a better defense and so was Buffalo.  But the production difference between the two backs in both games was both visually and statistically obvious.  The bigger picture is the offense took a major step back as well.  They are other moving parts and it's isn't all one thing, BY9>Dalton by a decent margin at this point.   But yeah, Rico's vision and athleticism is just better than Chubba and it jumps at you.
    • First day in 3 weeks my pain started to dwindle just a tiny bit.  Got switched from hydrocodone to post-shingles pain patches.  My insurance refused to pay for my patches as I’m too young for shingles per them.  I also need a prescription to get shingles shot and insurance also won’t pay for it even thought I just had shingles and in high risk to get it again.
