Kealoha pilares the quiet secret weapon.

With his halfback background and everyman mentality i see Pilares making that push towards the second man behind steve smith. With his recent TC performances it's going to be even more exciting to see him during the preseason. I expect him to surprise alot of people he reminds me of wes welker with a mix of danny woodhead.

Hes just now getting his opportunity in TC and from what i've seen hes turning into a weapon every is keeping quiet about.

He caught 88 passes last season and 15 touchdowns for the warriors while returning punts and kickoffs. Yes the warrior offense is pass heavy but being able to catch 88 passes with 4 other receivers on the field battling for the ball is something special.

I don't see where all the "Kealoha pilares is steve smith" stuff is coming from. The guy made some nice catches yesterday but is far from a lock to make the team. With armanti locking down a spot,i would say that put pilares behind the 8 ball. Can we see one preseason game before crowning him the next agent 89?

Um... who said that? I said he reminds me of Smith, mainly referring to his size and quickness... I just want to know how he's doing in camp.

I think he will go on the IR with a mysterious injury, and not play a down for us this year.

I thought the same thing. Barnidge too. However, with Gettis's hamstring and knee....

I am going out on a limb. We will keep 6 WRs. Edwards, Pilares, lafell and possibly Naanee and Gettis have special teams possibilites. I see Pilares and Naanee as possible gunners. Lafell, Edwards, or Gettis as possible kick/punt returners. Makes more sense than keeping CJ Davis.

My take is this: If your backup OL can be kept on the PS (players like R. Pugh), then all you need at gametime is a player who can fill a spot in a pinch. Bernardeau can play center and both guards. Ziemba can play RT and possible RG, some say LT. Some teams do not have the luxury of keeping a reserve OL on the PS because they are older. Would you rather have Pugh + a roster spot or CJ Davis?

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
