When the giants got sacks..

Same old Clausen for the most part....making OL's look worse than they are (ND and 2010 Car).

Another big advantage Cam has is he naturally has an instinct to properly react to pressure (probably b/c he is built like a DE and runs like a big RB.....that has to help).

JPP's second sack was on Jimmy. I know that for a fact. He had 5 yards of room all around him but he panicked and tried to bail out of the pocket, but instead he bailed out right into JPP's arms.

his other sack, I'm not so sure of, But that second one, Gross had pushed JPP all the way around to Jimmy's right side, props to JPP for not giving up on the play and shame on jimmy for bailing on the pocket.

Gross isn't losing anything guys, it's still the preseason and he'll be fine.

I don't know, JPP was all over Gross... wondering if Gross is starting to slow down a little bit (would be natural at his age).

Yeah Gross pretty much got manhandled.

Wouldn't be the first time. He didn't look good last year.

:iagree:

all comes down to poor QB play/decision making aiding the DL and hurting the OL. Clausen always makes pass rushing look better and OL play worse than it should be.......Gross was pushing JJP where he should of been....Clausen doesn't respond to pressure properly.

Uh.. Pierre Paul beat Gross from the RDE spot and sacked him. Not from the right side. Clausen was rolling out to the right, but Pierre Paul chased him across the field.

ssshhhh..... people read RDE on some site like ESPN and the tink they know what it means, let him think that:troll:

that one is shared by Clausen the Tackle can't let the DE blow by and then have the QB just run right into the guy.

While watching the game over, I notice Gross actually didn't do that bad. One of the sacks he gave up was on Clausen, because he rolled out instead of stepping up in the pocket. Gross also put JPP on his ass a couple of times. JPP did beat Gross inside once, but that's about it. Most of the time JPP was rushing wide, and Gross would just continue to push him outside, which isn't a bad thing, except for when you have a QB that's scared to step up in the pocket.

The sacks from the right side were on Cam bootlegs that would have been sacks regardless if Otah were in or not.. they simply loaded the right side and blitzed more than we had blockers. Cam should have shifted the line to the right to pick that up, but that should come with time.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
