How long should Cam play on Thursday?

If they have decided that Cam starts no mater what, then clearly he plays possibly 1st quarter but no more.

If they are still not sold on him starting then he plays more. Then know what they have with Clausen and Anderson.

Do we know what we have in Clausen and Anderson? I sure as hell don't.

EDIT: Maybe I do know, and I just don't like it.

Um...if we know what we have in Clausen then I'll assume what we know is how he played this preseason and how he played this preseason has been better than Cam in more areas as far as NFL ready (footwork, etc.). Let's remember Jimmy also played under that same pooty Oline everyone is now saying Cam is screwing up over.

The only reason for starting Cam would be to get him more real game learning time and claim him as the future, it won't be because he is the best immediate choice. Fans will have a hard time with this, as it always seems we are sacrificing now for later success, but the difference this year is there is a legitimate reason, and a situation where we have no choice.

I definitely think Cam should start this year but he can really benefit getting at least the basics down first. Even after that he will have to learn to apply it to the game, but as of now he is kind of raw. I love his running abilities but we don't know how long his legs will last and he could really get hurt.

I agree. I do. And as sad as it is I still think he might literally give us the best chance to win, Cam that is. Jimmy just cannot bring it on Sundays. Footwork be damned.

I would play Cam with all of our starters except for Smitty, DW, and Stewy. You can't play this game for fear of injury and he needs the reps. Putting Cam in without the starting offensive line will probably do more harm than good.

At least a quarter. Depending on how much work he gets.

I wanna see how he performs in a more rookie friendly offense.

Last week it seems like Chud was testing Cam, trying to get a feel for what he was and was not ready for yet.

This week, I wanna see more run plays, boot legs, slant routes. All things that are designed to make rookies look good.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
