Steve Smith Vs Jerry Rice

Happy Panther

If he does it, HOF. He'll go over 1500 for sure IMO, but getting over 1600-1800 will be a challenge. Once defenses realize he's having a monster season and f*cking Naanee is on the other side, he'll get doubled a lot more.

You seriously think that they haven't been game planning for Smith already? The difference is that this offense has too many weapons between our backs and TE's and the threat of Cam running, people are going to get open, including Smith.

needs 1000 yards in 9 games

very doubtful

Average of 110 yds/game for the remainder of the season with the running game beginning to emerge, very few "cheap" points/short drives off of turnovers, and a porous defense that struggles to keep the opposition from scoring, resulting in very few large leads? Absolutely possible.

Welker will retake the lead when we have our bye...

Depends what happens next week. Smith could pad it some more. Welker might have a bad game. Who knows. I know one thing...no way Cam wins the yards race after today's massacre by Drew Brees. He's close to 400 yards behind Brees now after today. He'll need 4 more 400 yard passing games.

Needs to average: 108 yards per game to surpass the single season record

I like this! Now do Cam and Joe.

No chance IMO. Cam won't continue to throw for 400 yards a week, and I'm hoping a running game shows up starting next week.

Cam threw for 300ish yesterday and Smith had 150 of those yards. He doesn't have to throw for 400 per game in order for Smith to surpass that number.

    • That does sound familiar. Those fans are deep. In snow lol. you don’t want to be up there in January.   I would think they have probably seen it all. Except what…  the championship? Gotta feel for them.
    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
    • It’s going to feel like a home game for the bills. There are so many of their fans that live down here now, and many of them have never seen Allen play in person since their last visit was 8 years ago. It didn’t matter for the cowboys game, but it might here. I think we likely lose a close one. Probably a questionable flag or two that doesn’t go our way. X factor for Buffalo will be Kincaid and Knox. If we do win it’s because we get ahead and play keep away from Allen. FYI- I have many friends who are Bills fans that are fed up with Beane who we all revere and think is the one that got away. They feel like he was great to land Josh but has done a terrible job of building around him (especially at WR) and rely on him to become super man to win- sounds kind of familiar, like the last time we had a franchise QB.
