14-10 or 15-10 makes no difference.

15-10 or 16-10 does make a difference.

16-10 means they need two FGs to tie the game.

14-10 or 15-10 means they need to FGs to take the lead.

14 v 15 does make a difference. At 14, if they score a TD we need a FG to tie or a TD to win. At 15, if they score a TD we only need a FG to win. We should have kicked the PAT.
