Peppers conference call recap

he doesn't sound that arrogant

but he does sound like he's sniffed some magic markers and ate some paint

honestly, the people who gave the interview were just as bad as him

Absolutely. The one guy that asked him "Is it important for your team to win this sunday and get back to .500" needs to go find his helmet and his building blocks and go sit in the corner during the next interview. What a stupid question.

Peppers has never been a public speaker. He is a recluse, which is rare in the nfl. Amazing how many people take that as being arrogent just to fuel their hatred for the guy.

You guys are a bunch of judgemental SOB'S.

The way JP left this organization was unprofessional when we gave him everything he wanted. And all he gave us was an FU. NOT ONCE, NOT ONCE has he thanked the fans of Carolina, or our Team.

To this day I don't know why Peppers made a clown of himself and left on bad terms. We were nothing but nice to the guy. Coaches, ownership, and the entire city. We adored him from day one and always gave him a ton of support and money. When the rest of the league and analysts were down on him during his 1 sack season most people stood by Peppers and knew there was more to him than just stats. And I don't see how Richardson telling him to be a leader is something that pissed him off. It's truly a shame and it's all his fault that he alienated himself. We should've traded him or something after 2008, but there was no reason for him to act the way that he did. Be a professional.

Last year when he came back he was acting like the typical ass that he has become with his "shhh" to the crowd. He'll find out that our offense is vastly improved on Sunday and he won't stay this cocky for long. Can't wait for Newton to school him like Vick did back in 2002.

The guy is a legitimate head case... his shyness for example goes way beyond anything within normal boundaries. It's a shame, because with his talent he could have been a first ballot HOF'er.

In fairness, his "shhh" gesture came after he had been booed as loudly and vigorously as anyone I have ever heard being booed.

He's whole explanation of why he ignored the 2007 offer to make him the highest paid defensive player in the league still blows my mind... he said he felt it was "disingenuous" after he had come off the worst season of his career...

Oh well, we've moved on and so has he. I take a great deal of satisfaction in the knowledge that his best years were in a Panthers uniform.

TBH he sounded like he always has and really there prob is no bad blood on his part cause he got what he wanted. I will say though he went at it in a dick way and I understand why you guys are pissed at him. I think if we win this game we will be done with Peppers like he was done with us.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
