Just remember, it could be ALOT worse...

Yeah, losing is never good - but we've been here before in previous seasons.

The difference this year is that we

(a) have a QB that can throw, run, be an overall threat to the opponent. Fans love him, opposing fans appreciate him, sports writers are writing about the team favorably - despite the loses.

(b) Smitty is on FIRE like we haven't seen for a few seasons. Why? Because we have a QB that can play up to Smith's desired level, and we have a coaching staff that is - more or less - letting the team play to their strengths.

© Rivera isn't John Fox from the last few years. He's got the fans' ear, and seemingly the players' respect. We're only four games into his first season; give him and his staff a break and let them Build For The Future (like, the 2nd half of the season and beyond).

Me, I'm proud to wear my Blue and Black this year, even with the 1-3 record. (I'd wear it other years too, but something about what we have this year makes it feel better)

It could be worse. 1-3 sucks, but think about this. That is 3 losses by a total of 19 points. That means we're competing. Little mistakes are costing us. And the team is still learning and adjusting in the new systems. I think we're looking better every week, which is all we could expect coming into the season.

    • We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
    • I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther.  Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt.  It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three.  ESPN is garbage anyhow.
    • Bingo!  We are on the same page.  Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders.  Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place.  One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced.    Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL.  Why?  RAS score, pure and simple.  If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
