Del Rio > McDermott

As others have said, this is not a fair comparison because of the talent Del Rio had on that defense. Hopefully soon, McDermott will have that kind of talent to work with.

Rivera is better than Del Rio. This is Riveras D....he just doesn't have the bodies this year to do anything but tread water.

Man at all the del rio hate int his thread. The guy had the number 4 D in the league at JAX. Jacksonville's problems were on offense, not defense. He might be a poor HC but he's a great defensive mind.

I certainly wouldn't mind if Del Rio came back home, but he'll moist likely try and get another HC gig.

Imma spin this...

For all the hate new fans such as App. State/Cam/etc. fans get...this is a reason why to hate fans of the SB-era...won't ever get over peeps like Delhomme and Del Rio...smh

Very interesting point. I barely remember much from the pre-fox era I was pretty young. I remember the 96 nfc championship game and a few games sprinkled here and there. I remember a good bit of 2002.

There is a fine line between appreciating the best players of your franchise and not "getting over them".

I love Jake, and many, many of the great/awful memories he provided me.

But, I understood and was happy we were moving on from him. I think most who speak highly of Jake would agree with that.

I don't overrate Del Rio like some do. I don't think those cats realize how much talent Del Rio had on that side of the football, namely the defensive line. I believe Del Rio is rated so highly because Trgovac wasn't nearly as popular.

The superbowl year was so special because many of us put up the hard years of 1-15 and 7-9, so we saw that group of players grow up to be winners.
