RG III > Cam Newton

On whether there's any reason for Robert Griffin III to stay at Baylor:

Gosselin: I can’t see it. His stock will never be higher than it is now. I’m against kids leaving school early, especially quarterbacks that want to spend the four years getting their degree because football will only last so long. He’s got his degree, he’s always won the Heisman as the best player in college football. He’s at the very top of his game, both academically and athletically. There’s no point in coming back, especially with an NFL now that covets him. They’re looking at what The Golden Calf of Bristol and Cam Newton are doing, this is a better version of Cam Newton and The Golden Calf of Bristol. His stock is driven up, and I think he’s going to be a top 10 pick.

Moore: This guy has a better arm, can make some throws that Cam Newton doesn’t make. Let’s take it one step further. No knock on Cam Newton at all, but let’s get Robert Griffin in a room and interview him. This guy’s going to be off the charts. How can you not be impressed with how he purports himself, everything he’s about, how he handles himself? It’s going to be astronomical for him. I think personnel guys are going to meet this guy and go, “There is no downside with this guy and we’ve seen we can have success in the league with this. Let’s be ahead of the curve, let’s not be behind the curve.”

Cam can make every throw in the book......not sure why they would be dumb enough to claim this kid can make more throws. They could claim be more consistant.

Cam's size is a HUGE advantage over RG3. Typical draft hype. Paint one to be a superstar or villan and run with it......

He is pretty good. If he is better than Cam, then I think it would only help Cam get better. If he's not then doesn't matter because Cam is going to get better. However I hope either him or Barkeley stays. 3 QB's would probably hurt the value of our draft pick.

I think RG3 can be very succesful but I don't understand the hate on Cam because he has done well this season. I might agree that RG3 can end up being a better passer than Cam and The Golden Calf of Bristol but he does't have Cams scramble and rushing ability nor does he have Tebows Clutch ability to win games. Not to mention Cam and The Golden Calf of Bristol have already proved they can be a sucessful NFL QB, well Cam has, The Golden Calf of Bristol could just be having a great season and I have yet to see him beat a team that hasn't beat themselves and he has yet to prove that he can win games with his arm which he will eventually have to do when the run game and defense fail.

    • I'll say 6. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition and will do more to help the defense than anyone. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole there. For all the hype surrounding Sanders and Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
    • 2010 was worse. Not much worse but worse.
    • Lol since 2017 the Panthers are 47-85,    Also since 2017 the Giants are 40-91-1   Lol
