If teams start courting Chud for HC....

No... I just wouldn't allow Chud to be courted by other teams.

If another team offers Chud a HC position, there's nothing the Panthers could do to stop him other than try to persuade him. If Chud wanted to leave to be a HC somewhere else, he could.

And to answer the OP question, no.

No, I would not fire Rivera; but, I would be grooming/mentoring the QB under him, or someone, into the same philosophy.

Not too worried about someone coming after him this year.

Most teams go after coordinators from a sustained winning program.

While he has certainly done much to bring life to a team with no pulse offensively, his offense is yet to beat a true champion and it's yet to win a championship, or even a division title.

I'd be a lot more worried once the Panthers win the division then I am now.

Too, some Coordinators are happy being Coordinators and either don't fit, or don't want that HC title...Labeau in Pittsburg as example.

Wasn't this the same cpach people were bitching about when our offense couldn't score in the fourth quarter?

Chud will leave when he does and we will replace him. At this point Rivera is the head coach and should be for the future. Chud is a coordinator with no head coach experience at any level. Even his offensive coordinator experience is not that extensive. Lets be real would this offense be any good at all with Clausen at the helm?? He has done a great job with Newton for sure but it is unclear what would happen if he went elsewhere at this point. And would he be able to run the team and the offense at the same time?

I am fine for him to be here for as long as it lasts, but no I wouldn't replace Rivera with him. I could see giving him a title like Assistant head coach or something if that keeps him but he is not the only reason our offense is doing well at this point.

Being honest, I think Chud gets his rocks off figuring out creative ways to score and as long as Rivera gives him 100% control in the play calling area, then Chud will be a happy man for a good while! As a head coach then he would almost have to give up some offensive power to others, and he seems like he just wants to be that lil kid playing madden trying to score 100 points! Bad analogy...........yes! But y'all get my point

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
