interesting draft day trade scenario w/ bengals...

If Trent ends up being a bigger MJD you wouldn't? I think he'll be ADP v2.0 considering what defenses that kid has run against in college. Bengals would love to have him. Cedric Benson is ok...but this kid is definate upper mid 1st round talent.

ADP was 7th overall....and I expect Trent to be around our pick.

RB has typically been a position you can address later in the draft and it seems like it's shifting more and more this way. last draft only one RB went in the 1st and that was towards the very end of the round. to think a team is going to give up not one but two 1st round picks for a RB seems somewhat of a stretch at best.

not to mention we don't have a good history of pulling off big draft trades in our favor under our current FO. i'd love to pull off this trade but i'd be EXTREMELY shocked

Saints gave one 1st and one 2nd last year for Ingram for 28th pick, I believe. It wouldn't be too crazy to get an elite RB at the 9th pick with two late 1st rounders.

until proven otherwise, the saints are the model for success.

they needed to address RB in a big way and they did. bengals are in the same boat. expect them to follow suit.

Doubt Richardson goes before the 16th pick, love the scenario, doubt it happens.

think we are screwed as far as trade down scenario

we should be one of the easiest trade partners a team could have. i don't see any reason why we would or should hang on for dear life to the position we get.

It's one thing to call someone a bust with a legitimate reason. However, all of the reasons that people have come up with are completely ridiculous. Then, this guy doesn't even give a reason but says he's a gonna be a bust just because he says so. But I guess he could beat me up on the internet so I must listen to him...

he shows up overweight which is a HUGE knock on his work ethic. that alone is enough to at least consider the possibility that he could be a bust. he's had one good season. his most recent season (the most relevant) was complete ass.

but hey i like south carolina so there's no way he'll bust so i'm going to call you an idiot.

Cinci needs to give Dalton more weapons to throw to. A runningback can be found in the later rounds. Take the BPA and let the desperate teams trade up.

they have AJ green, a rookie, who is absolutely INCREDIBLE. definitely their #1 receiver for the future.

jerome simpson is a solid, fast and athletic #2 receiver.

brandon tate is a burner and can produce.

gresham is a great starting TE.

jordan shipley is on IR, he's alright.

andre caldwell is also on IR, he was having a pretty good season before being placed there

in other words, i disagree :)

Agreed, nickzz. I was reading through the post and about to say the same thing until you said it all already :) Dalton has PLENTY of targets. Cinci's receiving corps is as good as ours. I wouldn't put Green on Smitty's level yet, but he's not far off at all. And will probably be above it soon enough. Simpson and Caldwell are more or less on par with Lafell and Gettis. Gresham is more or less similar to Olsen. Shipley >>> Naanee or any of our other scrubs. The only thing they don't really have is a 2nd dependable pass catching TE, but and 2nd one probably isn't as instrumental to their offensive scheme as ours.

yeah, anyone who thinks that the bengals don't have a good WR corps aren't really paying attention or they are making excuses for dalton's lack of stats when up against newton.

the only thing they have holding them back is the run game. benson is ok....nothing great about him at all. i'd classify him as soft. if they can get a RB that is a threat as a rusher and a receiver then they would be doing really well and i'm not sure that anything aside from their scheme (and dalton) could stop them.

dalton won't make them a powerhouse offense, but with a more balanced offense and their solid D they would definitely be good enough to be perennial playoff contenders.
