The next Drew Carter...

Is David Gettis... Fast, tall, but I don't know if he's going to take that next step...IF he is like Drew Carter where he produces for 3 games, and only gets open because he is fast. Do you feel this Panthers regime will neglect improving the WR core like the old days? I hope we don't pass on some of the wr's in this draft because were getting him back next season, we can't be that dumb. I understand we drafted Jarret and signed Key, but we hung on to Colbert and Carter for way to long.

I think Gettis runs with more strength than Carter. But even if he just becomes another Drew Carter it doesn't mean he can't be useful to us. Drew Carter could go deep and stretch the field and produce 100 yd games every once in a while.

But I don't think that is going to happen. Carter always seemed like he was playing on his natural track talent. Gettis seems to have a burning desire to be a great WR.

You're comparing players in completely different offenses/mentalities/players. Shockey and Olsen didn't end up like Rosario did they? I have a feeling the offenses in the previous regime held guys back, as well as Jake just not being the type that makes receivers better.

This offense likes to use the talent it has and Gettis has deep speed to compliment Cam's pretty deep ball. Gettis showed some good stuff in a rookie season where we had no QB and the offenses were awful so I think he will pick up where he left off.

Way too early to make a judgment call on Gettis. Not only because he has only had on year with a crap QB at that, a sixth rounder who has only played one year and because he is coming off of an inury.

Replacements for Gettis and Davis need to be sought out. Lafell still looks to me like a poor man's #2. Next year we will know for sure on him.

Don't bet on Gettis, a 100% recovery while retaining the desire to play at a high level should not be expected. WR is the biggest need on offense if you think Otah is worth a poo.

    • Oh wow! Look at that list! Full on the Omar Cooper Jr. train at WR now if we go that route
    • No I want one of those LBs in the second. Right or wrong.  I think this is said to be a down class of RBs. I would hope there would be a run of the mill stud somewhere later though. Out of all the young men in the USA who played RB, there kind of have to be one or two in there somewhere. We just need one.
    • please please please. not my fav OT, but Fano is fine for me at 19. might be a long term RT and yeah RT at 19 isnt ideal, but he can be a 10+ year top starter out there long term love Hill. do it all ILB we have missed for a long time. hes a plug and play ILB. Davis is a huge CB but top tier agility and speed. likely is a guy to push jackson/horn long term. he had 2 great years and a meh one in between. that pushed him here for the draftniks. tested extremely well. dont think he last this long with the testing grades and those 2 years of good/great production. Love Jones at C. zone guy, but long time starter, best C in NCCA last year..... my fav C outside Lews Roush played on a terrible team, but he is a top TE if he was on even an average team. tested well, and the speed is on film too. this is a gamble but that late sign me up for a + athlete at TE. corleone, great name, fireplug DT in the middle of the line. situational guy primarily. likely a 0 on passing downs in getting to the QB. hes there to take the lanes away form the QB/RB and let all the other guys actually get to the QB. on obvious passing downs hes on the sidelines.
