Fyi, Quick has been awful at the Senior Bowl practices so far..

Personally, I wouldn't touch the kid. I don't like taking star players from FCS schools because they don't face quality talent week in and week out like most that play in FBS conferences.

and we remember how God Awful Cam was at the Combine. Couldn't hit the side of a barn from ten feet away. Yeah, look how that turned out. If we could get him in a late round he wouldn't not be a bad pick. He would be 5th or 6th on our depth chart and have no pressure to be a star from the beginning. He could take his time and learn a little. He definitely has great size. Can't be any wore than Armanti or whoever the heck else we have at the end of our WR depth chart. But anyways, I think we are fine at WR and personally hope we don't draft one.

I don't know much about Quick - but is everyone sour on him because of Armanti?

Around here it very well could be that simple. Most people do not like taking guys from smaller colleges or FBS leagues that high and with logical reason.

What has to be considered at this level however is not where he lettered but what his measurables are and how he fits in a given scheme.

Opinion here likely will not change until his name is splashed all over the networks and if that happens just as many people will turn up their nose for that reason and that reason only.

Hasn't gotten off to the best start, but an adjustment period is expected.

As CR said, the draft is not so much about the matchups you face in school as much as how your skillset will transition to the next level. If "quality talent" was a major factor, the first round of every draft would be completely SEC players.

If the Panthers do have serious interest in him, they should at least recognize that since WR isn't as high a priority, they'll take him only if he falls. He's projected anywhere from 2nd-4th, so I wouldn't be opposed to selecting him in the 5th based on his potential. Not a major hit if he doesn't pan out.

:lol: That, along with a bunch of other reports he made is contrary to every report that has come out this week. I don't know if that guy was just watching from his television and "scouting" his opinion that way, or if his opinions are formed out of personal favortism, but I'd steer clear of that website from now on. It's proven to be awfully questionable in the past, and it's so far off the mark with some of those reports, I feel like he's blatantly trying to spread false information.

Yea, I'm not sure what the heck he's watching with Quick. Everything I've seen from him and read about him during this week has been positive.

He's done really well in 1 on 1 drills and has been improving all week.

If we are looking at any Tight Ends then one of Barnidge, Shockey, or Hartsock won't be back. I actually think Shock comes back for 1 more year. I also wonder what will happen to brockel.
