If Blackmon falls to us...

I'm 99.2% sure that there will be offers from other teams to move up and take him. We need to focus more on defense so if he's there I really think we need to give him a pass and trade for more picks. The reason I made this is because quite a few analysts have him falling, not sure why.

I'd love to see that happen. We could trade the pic with somebody who has fallen in love with Him and make out pretty well. But idk man we might look at blackmon and keep him if he falls to us. He's too talented. We would have to get a crazy good deal for that to give him up

i've seen some serious discussion about kendall wright passing him up as the best WR in the draft.

people seem to think that once/if blackmon runs a 4.8 40 or whatever people will lose interest and he'll drop on people's boards significantly. some mocks have him dropping into the teens.

depends what he runs.

Blackmon is not fast. He will run 4.5-4.6 range. Blackmon is known for very good route running ability, good hands, not afraid of contact and will go and get a ball in double coverage. He's exact copy of Boldin. He will excel as #2 WRs but will struggle as #1 WRs. He is not top #20 pick. Gettis is much better option.

I see Claiborne dropping all the way to #8. Only Vikings needs CB in top 8 but their OL is so horrible that it will not surprise me if they go with Reiff #3 overall. Purple jesus had no holes to run through and grew extremely frustrated with OL.

Blackmon will be way better than Anquan Boldin imo. There are some people who you watch them play and you can tell they just have it. I would say blackmon would be more comparable to Hakeem Nicks than Boldin. Big body big hands and enough speed. Not burner speed, but he's plenty fast to beat people deep. I still think he's a solid #1 WR.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
