Arkansas wide receiver/punt returner Joe Adams to have meeting with the Panthers

Recommended Posts

I bet we take him in the second.

Honestly, I'd be okay with it. Dexter McCluster was drafted in the first, IIIRC, and I think that Joe Adams is a very similar player.

I'd rather us not do it unless we somehow got a second 2nd round pick by trading back, but I think I'd be fine with it. Our Special Teams has suffered for years, and it's time that we step that up.

^^^ Guy definitely has speed.

But, from that clip all I saw was about 8 Tennessee players miss tackles. That was terrible tackling.

I would love to have him as a returner. But, that was bad tackling more than making great moves to make guys miss.

i think it was a bit of both, but honestly i looked at the way UT was trying to stop him and thought it reminded me of the panthers punt coverage team.

really bad.

still...i'd love for us to pick up adams or wylie (who we could pick up later and also is a great gunner) and chris rainey (for KRs and punt blocking). both guys could be good players on offense as well.

Those three right there. One of them has to be there in the fourth round. If Hurney trades our 2nd for a later 2nd and a third. Then so be it. But I do not. I repeat, do not want us to trade UP to draft Adams. Hurney is notorious for this and he needs to stop it. Trade down. Just trade down.

Adams is such a better player than Armanti Edwards. I hate how Hurney has to continue to try to mortgage the future to make up for his dumbass mistakes but Joe Adams would come in and be an immediate upgrade over Edwards and would be a guy who could rotate into the slot (if he's as good a route runner as advertised) and then we wouldn't have to bank on Gettis coming back off an injury. Again...hate that Hurney continues to be overly aggressive to make up for bad picks but I like Joe Adams.

I wouldn't give up a 2nd round pick but if he dropped to the bottom of the 3rd top of 4th range and we felt we needed to trade up for him 8-10 spots then the price could be our 4th this year and our 3rd next year which wouldn't be terrible.
