Panthers Sign.....anyone?

New age you say?

Or, current times rather. Just look how much Richard Marshall got in Miami. You guys would be fired year one as GMs. You wouldn't sign a damn soul thinking you know how much players are truly worth. Face it, money talks and it's getting out of hand. The more you see people "rob" teams, the more it becomes the norm. Get used to it. Meanwhile Hurney will scrape the bottom of the cess pool to save a few bucks then spend all his money on his own guys. Guys on a team that have never had back to back winning seasons.

If you aren't getting better, you're staying the same or getting worse. Thankfully there are still some solid players out there. But they'll cost us.

Who did the Ravens sign in the '08 offseason? Yet they competed because of great drafting.

Main players for the Packers? Guys they brought in themselves. Woodson is the only key free agent they brought in.

Steelers never sign anyone in free agency.

Can it be frustrating? Sure, but anybody acting like we should go balls out like the Redskins and Raiders have done in the past are being ridiculous. Who was the last team that was considered to have had the best free agency ended up doing jack? The only one that might even apply is the '09 Saints. But pretty much all of the Super Bowl champions before and after them were built via the draft. You'd have to go back to the '00 Ravens to find one that benefited heavily from FA and their dominance didn't last long anyway.

I'll have fun watching Carolina still be better than Tampa this season despite their fancy FA signings. Jackson is such an overrated signing in the first place. Who was the last FA wide receiver that actually ended up playing up to the level he did on his old team on the new team?

Jeremy Shockey, TE

Geoff Hangartner, OG

Dan Connor, MLB***

Derek Anderson, QB***

Legedu Naanee, WR

Antwan Applewhite, OLB***

J.J. Jansen, LS***

Jordan Senn, OLB***

Gary Barnidge, TE***

Mackenzy Bernadeau, OG***

Richie Brockel, TE***

Jerome Felton, FB***

Cletis Gordon, DB***

Ronald Fields, DT***

Reggie Wells, OG***

Who else on this list did they keep?

(*** = not a starter)

The team made the decision last year to spend on what they deem as the core of the team.As a result we have little money to spend .As of now we have a net loss of talent going into next year losing Wharton,Shockey,Connors Applegate and others. We will pick up 2 starters in the draft I feel the rest will be dumpster diving for depth and hopefully some ST talent.I dont see us drastically changing unless Otah Davis,Gettis and Beason come back and can play most games

I've been saying this for a while.. our drafts MUST improve if we intend on reaching the superbowl, and becoming a playoff contender year after year..

our drafts haven't been that bad over the years.. last year may have been one of the best we've had in a while, but it's too early to determine how those DTs will pan out, Hogan, etc.. Although I will be shocked if Hogan isn't starting next year.
