Cam Already Agreed To Madden Cover If He Wins

You're looking in the wrong place, you need to look at the psychology of athletes for answers. First off, the fact every single person on the cover from '99 to present statistically proves there is some connection, just a fact.

Now the reason for connection doesn't need to be magical. One possible explanation can reside with psychology of athletes. Many of the professional athletes are superstitious people and have everything from pregame rituals to wearing lucky underwear, etc. Add to that a perceived curse associated with Madden, and you might end up with athletes playing a little different.

Maybe because they fear injury, they play a little more conservative or what they think is safer and that slight change could itself affect their performance. There are many levels to which perceived threats such as elevated stress affecting the chemistry of the body.

Brees was the victim of "the really gay catchphrase" curse. It happened to the 87 Bears status post superbowl shuffle.

bottom line is someone like Brees or Troy P.....DON'T support this silly claim of a Madden Curse.

Brees throwing picks doesn't outweight the fact he lead the NFL in completion percentage, was 2nd in TDs, and lead his team to the playoffs. That isn't evidence of a curse. That is just insane. They lost in the playoffs b/c the Saints gave up 30+ points to a horrific Seattle team.....

that type of year would be the best Carolina had in 7 years and be ANOTHER great step forward in Cam's development.

You guys overstate these players' estimation of this. To suggest that Drew Brees walked onto the field and couldn't play to par because he was thinking about the fuging "Madden curse" is one of the absolutely stupidest things I've ever heard.

lining up opposite guys who could put you in a wheelchair for the rest of your life at any given moment for a living? no biggie.

some dubious "curse" associated with being depicted on the box of a video game? hold me i'm scared.

I'll do my part in derailing this thread and suggest PS3.

Also, I don't believe in curses, ghosts, leprechauns, hobgoblins, or magic monkey paws that give you 4 wishes. I do, however, think it would be awesome to see a Panther on the cover of Madden without having to use Photoshop. That's just me, though.

Brees had one of his lowest rated seasons since joining Saints in 2010 with the most INT of his career. It was disclosed at end of he season that he had a knee or thigh injury from a hit early in the season and that greatly affected his accuracy and was the reason for record setting interceptions and drop in accuracy and rating. He then lost to the only sub 500 team in playoffs, the Seahawks.

Funny how everyone was talking about how bad and embarassing the 2010 season was with multiple postings of the Lynch run, yet, now you need a positive outcome to support the current argument, so suddenly Brees did really well in 2010. Also don't forget we lost every single RB throughout season and came to playoffs without Jimmy Graham (injured) and with a RB Joique Bell signed 5 days earlier and another RB that never started before. We also lost our only remaining RB Ivory to a foot injury.

Bottom line, 2010 was worst injury year in quite some time. Every Saints fans I know has been voting against Brees and for Cam. Don't worry, Cam has Who Dat Nation support, millions of votes coming , including 5 votes from me personally already.

OH MY GOD NO WAYYYY THE PANTHERS MUST HAVE BEEN ON THE MADDEN COVER FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS IT MAKES SENSE NOW... IT ALL MAKES SENSE. OH MY GOD... JOHN KASAY WAS ON THE COVER IN FOR MADDEN 2003 AND THE ENTIRE PANTHER TEAM WAS ON THE COVER IN MADDEN 2004...... oh wait....
