  1. 1. Should we have let Deangelo Williams leave via free agency last year?

and what will the yes crowd being saying if Stewart walks?

this thread will be bumped after this season.....when Williams sees the field less than Stewart AGAIN and becomes the unquestioned best RB on the roster....

All these "yes" votes are going to flip their poo.

But people don't want to acknowledge that possible reality...

Where's the option to vote for - A contract offer on par for a 29 year old RB who splits carries, ended the two previous years on IR, and is a 2 down back

Blasphemy!!!! He answers fan question on live stream you fool!

Stewart is my favorite. Has always been my favorite. Love his athletic ability, along with his punishing running style. so much more fun to watch then williams.

what's that got to do witb williams getting his money?

nothing cept you want something else to stand on as you continue to argue the bad side of this debate.

Again, if Stewart walks after this year....after a season where the trend continues and he separates himself more as the best RB for this team....

Should we of paid Williams?

Simple question....And a very realistic possibility

i think what he's getting at is williams's contract raised the cost to keep stewart.

i don't think people realize that the starting price to keep stewart in carolina is what the panthers gave williams.

had they not jumped headfirst into a empty pool to keep williams, the odds of stewart staying would be very good.

Winner winner chicken dinner

But it is easier just to paint me as a blind Williams hater. Ignoring what Carolina did sets the table for a great RB in his prime to walk....leaving us with a 30 yr old RB (who while is a great pure runner) just doesn't fit ideally what we do.

I have zero problems with Williams contract.

I have zero problems witb Stewart getting paid also.

williams contract isn't going to prevent the Panthers from signing Stewart.

The Panthers have the cap room to sign Stew now. I doubt they will at this point. They will probably wait until during the season to do so, but it wouldn't surprise me if they got something done before the season starts.

i have no problems with stew getting paid. the odds are not any worse, dispite what you doom predictors think.

You do realize you didn't answer the question....so I will ask again...

If Stewart walks....and again the trend continues of him separating himself as the best overall RB in Carolina...(Realistic possibility). Should we of given Williams that deal?

And as a side note to your statements...all reports say Stewart has refused contract talks. He isn't going to allow them to give him an extension now...he is setting the stage for a big payday and Carolina can start talking with the deal they gave Wiliams when he opens talks

    • Best birthday present ever!
    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
