Cam's stats will not be as impressive next year...

I truly believe Cam wont reach the 3,400 yard passing mark...That said his efficency will go up, our run game will be even better and we will win more games just based on defense alone. Dont look for Cam to break 5,000 yards, we don't need that and with how our team is built we don't want that. We want to beat teams up on the ground. The only wr we added was Joe Adams, (yes we get Gettis back) but a key move to show what Rivera wants this team to be like was the addition of Tolbert to an already crowded backfield. Last year we showed off our new toy this year we want to win games...Dont take Cam in the first round in fantasy and draft Stewart and williams back to back in the middle rounds lol..

thanks for sharing?....that said i don't buy it. by that i mean i don't think we'll see a significant drop in his production. maybe rushing TDs and rushing yardage, but beyond that everything should improve. i do see the defense helping out, but i don't think i see this offense backing off just because they think the defense has the game in hand...at least it shouldn't. any offense in modern football who takes the foot off the gas at any point in the game, regardless of what the scoreboard looks like, deserves to lose the game and very likely will. that is the mindset they need to have.

the defense will help preserve leads, but the best defense is a great offense that just won't let up. all the defense needs to do is slow up the other team.

all that said...i don't think that people will be as blown away by cam as they were last year but that's because by now the secrets out just how good he is. excellence is expected in a way it wasn't last year. only the littlest of minds expect anything but greatness next year.

I'm with Razor and CRA on this one. His stats should continue to improve.

As to the running game, many of Tolbert's touches will be through the air, so his addition may not have a big impact on Cam's stats. Also, running games always start slowly. It takes a while for O-lines to gel and the RB's to get in gear. Cam should continue to have big numbers in the 1st few games.

    • I'm super excited about the guys we're getting back, and fortunately this year, outside of Robert Hunt, we haven't had any season-threatening injuries. Rico has earned the start, but I am excited to have both available.  The team is finally turning into the run-first team Canales said he wanted to be. As for JT Sanders, I think he has lost the most be being out. He is probably our best receiving TE, but with the emergence of Mitchell Evans & with him and Tommy Tremble both absolutely balling in run blocking, it will be hard to fix something that isn't broken. I'm hoping Turk Wharton can help with our pass rush. We really havent gotten to see him much due to injuries, but we desperately need anyone to provide some pass rush juice, which is what he was brought to do. I'm the most excited about Jalen Coker returning. Theilen may have been the most clutch last year, but I've watched a lot of film, and Coker was the most consistent WR we had when he was out there last year.  I think he can be an ideal #2 to Tmac. While Coker doesn't have the raw athleticism XL does, his route running, savvy, and overall football IQ simply make him better.  I think with the fact Coker can play both outside and in the slot will give our pass game more versatility.  We have been running a lot of 2 TE sets, and I think Tmac & Coker should be the primary WRs for 12 personnel. The other WRs (XL, Tremayne, Renfrow, & Horn) all have roles, but I dont think any of them can fully replace what Coker can do. I do think Renfrow will be inactive this week if everyone is healthy bc of how valuable Tremayne is for ST and as a run blocker. So happy that we are playing meaningful football heading into November. We are still almost certainly a year away, but we are absolutely moving in the right direction
