What position do we take in the first round?

You sounded really confident in saying that Lafell will become the no.1 WR. I hope you're joking. Unless you wanna settle for being a team like the Browns or Dolphins.

Unfortunately the Browns and Dolphins are playing better than we are. But I do agree with LaFell not being a #1. Let's see what Gettis can do if he is able to come back this year. A future #1 WR would be great but I have no faith in this D. We need some potential stars there.

This can change in a couple months - but right now I'd say

LT

And then anything on defense besides a LB.

that's the point of this thread....so heading into today game at Atlanta, our

consensus is D-line, followed by safety.

After our game today against Ryan, let's see if secondary takes the lead.

Remember, the question is what position to we take in the first round.

Assume whatever position you choose, and whether we're drafting 3 or 20th,

the BPA for the position you want is available.

Honestly, I stil say DT is a higher priority than even Safety. If we have a disruptive force, like Suh, in the center of the line, adding to the pressure we got from the Ends today, Ryan doesn't have a chance to make many passes at all, or the line of sight to complete them.

Safety in the second, especially since we look to be picking high yet again this year (so far), which should still net us somebody better than anyone we have playing either safety spot on the roster right now. OG/OT in the third and fourth, whichever is BPA for that respective round, to groom for starting down the line. Fifth, True Fullback. 6th and 7th, whatever we can find that will help us on ST.

This is provided we haven't stupidly traded away any more draft picks that I'm too lazy to find out right now about. Here's to hoping Hurney is finally fired this year, and we get a GM who knows his ass from a hole in the ground, and can make a draft that actually works where we don't cut a 3rd rounder before his second year.

I know everyone's pissed at Naka... Naka... Nakanabehereanymore, but what truly worries me is the huge amounts of yardage we've given up on the ground so far this year. If these guys suck so bad that the FA DT we just brought in (That have given up so many yards) can start ahead of them, then our depth just flat out sucks. I want to see us start winning the battle of the trenches, first and foremost. Safety is needed, but I think we'll be ok waiting until the 2nd, since it's supposed to be deep this year for that position.

Round 1- Justin Hunter

I know we need defense, but Smith'll be 34, and no one else on our depth chart has really stepped up. Plus, Hunter is special, 6'4, fast, strong. Playing well after that injury. He reminds me of AJ Green. Get him.

Round 2- Kenny Vacca

Fast, good coverage and tackles well. A very good and safety that'll make plays for us in our backfield and stop the big ones.

Round 4- a big, run stuffing DT.
