Mort said Richardson did not want Rivera

Starting the season.. I never would have thought we'd be at this point. With talks of Kalil guaranteeing a super bowl.. Cam coming into his second year.. all positive things. No a dose of reality. We are 1-5, fired our GM, and thoughts of starting over again with a whole new regime. Just can't believe it. Things can change so fast in the NFL.

Right, all of you are now saying that JR isn't making the big decisions, but guess who's making the big decision in the other thread that's hot right now about D-Will getting traded?

JR didn't want Rivera, but he's still here. JR doesn't make the final decisions, but other teams are contacting the Panthers about D-Will?

Right....sorry, not buying it.

"It gives me comfort that he's a former player -- a much better player than I ever was," said Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, a former Baltimore Colts receiver. "But the fact that he was a former player and I was a former player, it seemed to be a pretty quick bonding with us."

"Since we've been in business we've had four head coaches," Richardson said, referring to Fox, George Seifert and Dom Capers. "His approach, his demeanor, his style, his experience, the fact that he's been a former player, seemed to me to be perfect for us at this particular point in time."

So needless to say I call bullshit.
