Is Greg Hardy going to get Charles Johnson money?

in order to keep him carolina, he should.

This is why were in the mess we are in today. Its, like hurney trolled this board looking for our favorite players and decided to pay them ass loads of money! Next year if frank alexander steps up then krakken is expendable and you draft a new guy. YOU DONT WIN BY PAYING 6-8 GUYS A TON OF MONEY!!!!! Pay Cam and draft well and develop around the talent you have. That way when its time to re-up, the team has the leverage not them. Make a reasonable offer and give them the choice. If they bounce we already have someone younger and cheaper.

The 10 sack mark is no longer the elite player barrier. Not in today's league. He's still young, and I'll give him some benefit of the doubt because anytime Dwan Edwards goes down we lose any and all interior push, but he'll have neither of those excuses next year (assuming the new GM is an Accorsi hire, not a Richardson one) and it'll be up to him to take another step and make a push for a big contract.

You don't deserve this kind of big money talk after only 15 games. Needs to show he can do it consistently. If not, then you're just MadHatter and want to pay everybody huge dollars for past performance and being stand up young lads.

We pay you for what you're going to do, not what you've done. If Hardy doesn't give any inclination next year that this season was just the start of something awesome, then you don't throw oodles of cash at him for 2012.

He won't get CJ money, but he deserves it... CJ's contract was the first of the statement contracts Richardson dealt out. Without Hardy then CJ would be another Julius Peppers 2.5 sack a year type player.

He is also the reason our secondary isn't torched every week. I like Josh Thomas and Dockery and all, but honestly how would these guys be doing if Hardy and CJ weren't wrecking sh1t?

We don't have to pay Hardy for another year or two right? Can anyone break down what the status of his deal? Does he become a restricted free agent that we can put a first round tender on? With a guy like the Kraken you stall as long as you can to pay him because he's a volatile entity. He's the type of guy that could be suspended for substance abuse or breaking the law next week. Please don't take that as racism but he is a wild man. He was out buying shots 2 hours after the game posting on twitter for everyone to join him. He invites trouble. I love his attitude but it could be his downfall in a PC league.

We also going to have to pay Cam in 2014 as well. I hope our next GM will take all of that into consideration this up coming off season.

Of course he will. Every team has projections and plans regarding the management of their cap going out a number of years.

Certain positions cost a lot of money if you have guys performing well. QB, LT, DE are consistently at the top. There is nothing wrong with paying guys at those positions market prices. The problem comes in when you are paying non-premium positions top dollar and you starve yourself for cap space elsewhere. The obvious examples in our case are the RB's and LB's, and yes, even our center.

To take it a step further you stagger your big contracts so some are in large pay years while others are in lower pay years. E.I. Jerry didn't pay anyone for several years and wasted cap space for years then sucked it all up in a span of about 36 hours.

If our next GM has a clue he would be trying to lock Hardy up long term this offseason and not wait till next.

Also players that need to be restructured

Gamble

Gross

Maybe Beason

anything to get rid of contract

Dwill

I have stated since the moment that the contract was given to him that Dwill was way overpaid for, I thought Beason at the time got what he deserved, Johnson was over paid for but we had to do that because he would have left and we could not afford to have that happen again and Dwill god only knows why we gave him that contract.

Remember also that the Panthers need to clear up Cap space for 2 years from now when we will be first starting to look to extend Cam's Contract, if Cam keeps this up he will be looking for a $100m+ Contract and we will need to front load contracts like Hardy now to save room for Cam.
