Rivera Black Monday News

I agree. I was in favor of him going for a while, but the team has gone from a lame-duck 2-14 before he arrived to an improved 6-10 without an offseason to an admittedly poor beginning to the second campaign. But the team has really gelled down the stretch imo. They are playing as if they know what is expected and they have a cohesiveness and fire that has piqued my attention. We're playing very well defensively with some significant holes. I want to see what Rivera and co. will do in year 3. I'm starting to believe he may be better than what I iniitally felt. The players really seem to want to succeed for Rivera.

Chud can stay or go, but I would really welcome Norv Turner at the OC position.

remember we did the same thing last year.finished strong down the stretch which was why expectations were rather high this year based on how we finished last year.ron will not get it done.winning meaningless games at the end of the season every year does not impress me

I remember. We beat a Tampa team that had completely quit- 2 times, a horrible Indy squad and a Houston team with a rookie QB and finished getting blown out by the Saints. This year we beat Atlanta, destroyed San Diego on the road and finished by handling our business against the Saints. Our defense is really coming together too. The team this year down the stretch looks miles better to me than the team down the stretch last season. I will grant you that if we keep Rivera and he starts out poorly again next year or has a poor season overall, then it is time for him to go, but I want to see another season before starting over yet again.

If Rivera is brought back, I'd like to see Norv hired as OC. That way, if something were to happen and we had to fire Rivera during the season, we would at least have someone with NFL HC experience to fill in.

if norv turner as oc increases the chances of carolina winning, then carolina winning decreases the chances of rivera being fired.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
