No way in the world Norv would be a QB coach....many teams will want him as their OC. Better one than Chud. Can't hire a better mind to watch Chud go full retard every couple games.

His son coaches here, and an old friend is running things (for the moment).

That, plus if Chud does spaz out, he could step right in.

I don't think any of these guys are upgrades over Rivera. Maybe bringing in Lovie Smith on defense...man the D would be insane.

Why do people think Lovie Smith and Ron Rivera would want to work together given their history?

For that matter, why replace McDermott? He's doing great.

still don't get it though.

Chud = biggest issue this year

Norv > Chud

Shula by all accounts works great with Cam and Cam highly respects him (Cam meanwhile is rewriting a record book each year).

if you land Norv I don't see how he could be anything but OC.

I wouldn't necessarily replace Shula, but if Magnus is correct that Newton and Shula have some friction (and even he doesn't know how true it is) then it's something I'd consider.

I agree, McD/Rivera turned a overall weak defensive bunch into a top 10 D.

Rivera doesn't want anything to do with the last coach who fired him (depsite doing a great job)

How much of the defense's success is because of Rivera? I don't know but I think it's a valid question...

Regardless, the combo is working well.

But even if it weren't, Rivera is not going to hire Lovie Smith, and I seriously doubt Lovie would want to work for Rivera either.

Who knows...probably not. I thought they had worked together in Philly in the early 2000's for some reason but they didn't. Never realized how great Andy Reid is at finding assistants that become head coaches. To his credit...Brad Childress, Pat Shurmur, Ron Rivera, Leslie Frazier, Steve Spagunolo, and John Harbaugh.
