Anyone else think it's a strong possibillity we trade D-will on draft day?

The Panthers have made it no secret that we are open to trade talks about D-Will. I could possibly see Gettlemen making a move on draft day sending Williams somewhere for maybe a 3rd and a 4th round pick (hard to tell what the market would be for him). Could anyone else see this happening?

It makes sense for us to do it as a June 1st trade not now. And not for a 4th. I don't doubt we have been shopping him, there is no magic in waiting until draft day when we can do the deal at anytime up until then for a draft pick this year. Might get a good 2014 draft pick for him though, especially if it was conditional and Williams plays well.

I'd guess a 5th at best and he'd have to be willing to renegotiate his contract. In other words, he'd have to be willing to go to the team we worked the trade out with and be willing to take a pay cut to do it.

In other words, it ain't gonna happen. He'll be a Panther this season and he'll be cut next off-season.

    • He could come back and be better than Bryce. I've been shitting those posters for 3 years but I do not believe he can be worse than Bryce
    • 17 times Bryce has been under 70 yards in the first half, more than 33% of his starts. The dude fuging sucks. He's been over 200 yards 12 times in his damn career. There are other problems for sure but we cannot accurately solve those until turnover Fred gets the fug off the field
    • The issue is that the NFL insists on extending "franchise QB" money to mid-tier or worse starters. If your guy isn't legit MVP caliber then you're probably better off letting someone else pay him and moving on. But GMs and coaches want to keep their jobs so they pay these guys fearing the alternative. Let him walk and implode and you're fired. Sign him to franchise QB money and you can probably limp along for another 2-3 years before the cap hits start strangling the life out of the roster and maybe you can even exceed expectations if you can draft really well.
