This must be getting some air time, NFL Sirius radio reported this as well. They said that he was not reported as failing because they don't report that until the second test sample confirms the first. But they are apparently testing the second one for confirmation.

Don't know if this is true or not though, they might be getting the same misinformation.

Will be interesting to see what comes of this. I could see it being very believable that he either used PED's to try and recover from injury quicker, or perhaps a pain medicine caused him to test postiive.

all it takes is one person to get their info wrong, tweet/report it (that being schefter here) and they all regurgitate it. it's potentially hot drama/gossip so everyone has to report first and investigate later.

Normally though if there is a retweet or correction, they get the info first since they follow everyone and people call in all the time. So I am surprised they didn't know this. It leads to me to speculate that there may be something to this but it is not confirmed and won't be until there is confirmation which there is not as of right now.

i think the biggest problem i have with all this is that they aren't willing to wait until anything is confirmed. the slightest chance to fling poo and they take it. drama sells. corrections don't.

Actually having a "high amount of water" or whatever is something that comes when people take those drinks to pass drug tests. I've heard of that happening.

With that said. It's dumb to come out with a definitive statement at this point. This is a guy's career were talking about.

IMO, the only way this affects him, is, if it's true. Otherwise, the powers that being are not basing their decisions on a Sheifert tweet. Teams that want him are going to do their due diligence far and above a tweet by some ...

Lets wait to see if there is anything to it. I suspect he would be more likely to fail due to performance enhancing or steroids for injury recovery. That would make sense and would be consistent with rehabbing and frankly wouldn't be as big a deal to me. If he failed for marijuana after knowing they were going to drug test him it would just suggest he is pretty damn stupid. That would be more of a red flag to me than trying to rehab an injury in time for the combine.

If you drink a ton of water to dilute your urine to the point that any drugs are below the threshold for detection, it causes your PH and creatinine levels to be too low which can be red flags.
