This is exactly who Cody Zeller reminds me of

I have been trying to figure out what NBA past or present that reminds me the most of Cody Zeller and what kind of pro he will be and today it dawned on me who I envision him being like.  It is this guy

Both guys are 6'11 230.  Highly skilled.  Little soft around the basket.

Cody is a bit more athletic and polished but Seikaly was probably a better rebounder.

But I envision similar production.  Seikaly was a @50%fg 15ppg 10 rpg guy.  Not an all-star or franchise player but a really quality and productive player in the NBA.  That is the exact type of player I think Cody will be.

I can see comparisons.  Im not saying Cody Z will be a superstar, but you just dont see many 7 footers with his athletic ability and shooting ability.  At the end of the day, I expect him to be more like a Dirk than anything.  Tough cover.

Seikaly - the first official douche hated by Charlotte sports fans.  Who else remembers in our inaugural draft (88), he made a comment that he wouldn't play in Charlotte, and he ended up with our expansion rival in Miami.  We had somebody to boo right out of the gate.

Screw his dumb ass.

Zeller is an athletic freak at 7feet. He had probably the highest vertical leap among bigs at the combine and runs the floor like a gazelle. He'll be a better player than Seikaly almost immediately. I see him doing very well in Summer League. We will have a very good line up for Summer League. Trust the Cho

    • I'm only in favor of this if they make it like cigarettes.  Shouldn't be plastered all over the presentation of the game.
    • Yes but this is under the assumption that most of the players are susceptible to this sort of coercing from those type of elements. I think those actual cases are rare. Plus the sportsbooks are more motivated than most to stamp it out because it loses them money. It's just a natural side effect of having gambling at all. IMO, better for it to be legal. Now, I do find it insanely hypocritical(but also typical) that all these sports leagues that once turned their noses up and were very high and mighty about sports gambling are so openly supporting it now that the megabucks are rolling in.
    • Well I should also say another caveat is positional value. You have to be careful violating that. For the scenarios you are describing, those are also things that free agency is for. Free agency should always set up the draft. Improve the roster and then go shopping for things to potentially take your roster up a notch.  Lastly, we are in scenario 2. Our roster is still not good and we have holes at most position groups. We are actually in the "BPA All Day" range.
