Broncos executives get wasted, drive, crash into things

Broncos director of pro personnel Tom Heckert blew a 0.162 on his breath test nearly seven hours after his June 11 DUI arrest, according to information The Denver Post obtained from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. That's nearly double Colorado's legal limit of .08.

Heckert was stopped in Parker, Colo., after his car struck the median and almost hit a stoplight, according to the Douglas County records.

The Denver Post and WZVN-TV reported that Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.246 when he was arrested July 6. That's more than three times the legal limit.

A Colorado State Patrol arrest affidavit obtained by The Post and the TV station said Russell had an open bottle of peppermint schnapps in his truck at the time of his arrest in Breckenridge, Colo. He allegedly was traveling 40 mph when he hit a parked police car, sending the officer who was inside to the hospital with neck and back pain and lacerations to his right arm. Minutes earlier, Russell had hit another vehicle in Frisco, Colo., police said.

This is kind of unreal. It's almost come to be expected that the players are going to do stupid poo and get arrested, but this is two high level executives with the Broncos. These guys were WASTED. Blowing a .16 SEVEN hours after the fact. Lol what the fug is going on up there in Denver?

When I got my DUI many, many moons ago, I blew a .17, and I was legit hammered. I got out of the car and when asked to walk a straight line, I fell over.

I'm in no way, shape, or form proud of it. Just providing a first hand reference to exactly what double or triple the legal limit looks like.

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
