Smoking...

Is something that I no longer do, I tried to quit a couple of months ago and failed miserably so I found a new tool to help me quit

This is stronger then a normal E cig and makes me feel like I'm smoking a real cig.

I went from 2 packs a day to 0 in 2 weeks, they cost $35 and the E liquid is $6 a tube and equals a carton of smokes. The brand I use is called Carolina Flavor and the E liquid flavor is hazelnut. I keep hearing this is not safe but better then smoking if its not safe no one knows why..Nicotine is about as dangerous as caffeine

Quit being a puss and just quit already. I quit cold turkey 7 years ago. Every time I wanted a cigarette, I tried to rage in a positive way, not always successful I might add. It was mostly through exercise, I really didn't want a cigarette after barreling down the street as fast as I could, or doing sit-ups until I couldn't muster another one. I looked at diseased lungs online and people who had holes in their throats. I imagined what life would be like if i were in that position.

This is my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree and that's fine.. I think giving yourself nicotine while you're trying to quit smoking is comparable to giving a heroin addict prescribed doses of heroin and expecting him to quit heroin. Its possible that he might quit that way, but I highly doubt it. People say they cant quit without some kind of help, its not true, don't sell yourself short, don't give in to it, you are more powerful than some stupid, pathetic cigarette.

E-cigs helped me kick the habit. I went through about 4-5 of them before I stopped buying them.

I'll still have one when I've had one to many find but those have become fewer and fewer.

There is no right or wrong way as long as the end goal is the same.

Not sure about the e cig but it is hard to imagine it is as bad as the real deal.

Please do what ever is necessary to break the addiction of smoking.

Long term effects are tragic.

Visit a nursing home and look for the former smokers, it won't be hard to spot them on their oxygen tanks.

Miserable way to spend your final years of life.  Miserable way to die.

Okay here goes my smoking story...

Started when I joined the Navy and was hooked before I knew it because almost everyone did it back in the early 70's. 34 years later I went to my doc and told him I wanted to quit but was concerned about the physical side effects. He prescribed Welbutrin and tole me to take 2 a day and when I "felt like not having another cigarette, just don't." Within a week I finished a pack and decided I was done. He told me I needed to continue the Welbutrin for a complete year after I quit. I didn't listen, took it for about 6 months after quitting and about 18 months later I started smoking again.

I went cold turkey in 2010, smoked my last cigarette the day before I went on vacation to the Caribbean. Best thing I ever did. I was away from any excuse I used to smoke, was relaxed and care free on vacation and had no real desire to smoke. When I got back from vacation I traded my Tahoe for a new one that didn't smell like cigarette smoke (with the wife's blessing) and I haven't had a smoke in 3 1/2 years.

I've gained about 20 pounds because I figured out the smoking thing was all about keeping my hands occupied. Today I pop jelly beans, nuts, M&Ms.... and I'm working to get the weight off, but as the wife says, "I'd rather have you overweight and alive than smoking, skinny and dead." But I have made a couple doctor visits and there doesn't appear to be any long term damage and he said my lungs are already almost completely clear of any evidence that I ever smoked.

I'm on my like 5th attempt this year, I average about 3 weeks and then ill get this super strong craving and end up buying a pack, I have found that when I get the craving if I find something to do that will keep me busy for a couple hours till it passes I'm good

I don't get why it's so hard for people to quit smoking. I used to smoke Newports for about 6 months, and when I decided to quit I had no trouble. All I had to do was look up the side effects of smoking cigarettes, that made me quit.

YOLO!

I didn't say i didn't fail, I tried quitting for 3 years prior. I even stayed quit for an entire year once and then one day bought a pack and smoked it all that same day. I can tell you, once you have made up your mind that you are going to smoke, you will smoke. I've been there, I know what it's like, I know how you feel.  I got to the point when the worry over trying to quit smoking was killing me, I really wanted to stop. I wanted to not smoke more than I wanted to smoke and my 5 year old at the time begging me to not smoke was killing me.  That was my turning point.

A friend of mine at work is doing very well quitting with one of those. No matter what anyone says it can not be as bad as smoking. I had to use the gum when i quit. I chewed the gum for about a month than i had no more desire for it.
