Our passing down D-Line

Yes very dynamic and on paper even better than 2003 Panthers' D line. The main sub back then for passing downs was just to bring in Al Wallace, right?

When Kris Jenkins was at his most dominant.  That group was amazing.

That 2003 group won many a game for us.

Agreed, the lack of depth behind Shane Burton showed though, Jenkins et al was so gassed at the end of the superbowl there was no push from the dline. And of course foxball defense doomed that. Might as well have blitzed everyone! But I digress..

The interesting thing about this D line is the depth! Very much in the mold of the Giants. If we are so lucky as to face Brady in the superbowl again, I guarantee you Hardy and Short won't be gassed and will run rampant on the Pats' (or any team's) O line, even into overtime.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
