Ofcourse not. I guess what im trying to say is yes a O line is important. But its also not a dealbreaker for a winning season as the Bears and Packers both prove.

it is when your most important player goes down. how is this not making sense to you. Cam was running for his life for most games last year and he still put up ridiculous numbers. Now imagine him with a solid o-line.

Don't most teams usually sit out their starters in preseason?

The first game well see them for a bit, third game is generally the most played by starters. Around a half and maybe a bit into the third quarter

I think the line has the biggest question mark other than the secondary.  The difference between the OL and the secondary is that the secondary has 7 promising players that are standing in front of them facing the opposing players.  The OL on the other hand is the protector of the backfield.  That said they are of huge concern. 

 

The good news is that the upward trajectory of Silatolu and Bell is promising. Bell was bad last year but improved from the prior year.  Hopefully both of these guys get better.  If they do not then as of today we have no one behind them that is serviceable for any type of duration. 

 

I think we need a vet or 2.

and how many average or bad DLs are we going to be facing this year? do we need to just count on that?

It always seems like whatever you think will be a position of strength ends up being worse than you thought and vice versa. I'm under the impression that everything starts at the line, and right now I'm very concerned.

I would have to agree with KillerKat on this one...

 

The cause for concern stems from the fact that we have the same starters and did nothing to address the offensive line.

 

All we did is replace backups and camp fodder...

I know he hasn't panned out as the 1b to Ndamakung Suh's 1a, but Gerald McCoy I thought had a good year last year didn't he?
